Vehicle Detail

1987 VW Cabriolet-Good Condition A timeless dependable classic that gets very good gas mileage. I purchased this for my daughter when she was in high school as her first car from a gentlemen in Blacksburg, VA. She drove it for 3 years up until graduation. The past year or so it has been in my garage and has been started on a regular basis while I continued to work on it. Since purchasing it, I have either done or had done the following. New interior and carpet New Top (4 yrs old but in great shape with a horsehair pad-Interior liner is the original) Rebuilt Engine from a 1990 Cabriolet with new bearings, rings, seals, oil pump, pan, all gaskets, pressure control regulator and numerous other items. New clutch New shift bearings including the main shaft bearing New transmission output shaft seals New Axles/CV joints New Tokiko Shocks/Mount Bearings/Dust Boots New Exhaust and Cat-(done 4 years ago but in great shape) New Gas Tank-(Dealer installed recall) 4 yrs ago New in tank fuel pump New Sony CD/MP3 Stereo with Pioneer Speakers New brakes and hoses done in the past 3 years The VW Bentley Manual A new fuel pump-(not installed because it hasn't needed it) Newer Tires on the front and a spare set of 4 with approximately 50% or better tread Many parts that I have picked up over the years worth many $$$ I also have a spare transmission that is good, the original solid lifter head as I installed a hydralic head with the rebuilt engine, and various interior spare parts etc. As mentioned, this car runs good for the year and frankly I would keep it if I didn't have too many other cars now. I have over $3000 invested in it including the original purchase as well as many, many hours. This car is not without faults, the greatest being the need for a new paint job, exterior window seals, and it needs an ac hose end repaired. It has been set up for R-134 and has a new drier and expansion valve installed. The odometer does not work all the time and the mileage is an estimate. I have included another full instrument pack as well. Otherwise, this is presents a great value for someone looking to own what will soon be a vintage car as well as one that is fun to drive with the top down. Fun to drive, easy to maintain, a rag top at a affordable price! Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them for you.
