1954 Studebaker Starlight Coupe Be sure and follow the more pictures link at the end of my description ! As some of you may know, I find Studebakers around the country, fix them up and find new homes for them on Ebay. I bought this project 1954 Studebaker Champion coupe in California. I had a Studebaker friend haul it to his home near Woodland Ca. The previous owner sanded the paint off a lot of the sheet metal, and allowed it to surface rust and it looks more rusty than it is. Here are two pictures that show how easy it was to get to good metal: The car has some minor rust through in a few spots, but is basically a pretty solid California car with good floors and trunk floor. It's a perfect car to restore, rod or build a Bonneville speed record car. (See my friends description down lower) Note: the wide whites and wheels on the car are not included, but we'll install the correct wheels with good roller tires to get it around. The car is very compete, missing mainly only the front bumper, but we'll include a later Hawk bar that will bolt on. The car was running when parked years ago, and may again with a new battery and some odds and ends. (We soaked the cylinders in penetrating oil for the new owner.) We chose not to put the labor and money in making it a driver since it's likely to be rodded by the new owner. The car has a manual, overdrive transmission. The interior is pretty much all there, but rough and will need new factory upholstery or a custom interior. Some flat glass is broken, there is some rust holes down low, but no major rot. The reserve is way under low book value of $4475 and this car would make a perfect budget candidate to rod, restore or race. Since it's hard to visualize the car restored or rodded with all the surface rust and different colored sheet metal, here's a very nice, mild custom 1953 coupe done: Here's my friend's comments on the car after looking it over: "This is a car we are trying to move fast. We've got too many cars and not enough space right now. This is a Champion Coupe with engine, trans, radiator, shroud and most other parts intact. I would say that one of the high points on this car is the front grills and front clip with the grill surrounds being straight. The car appears to be in good shape with only minor rust out. The only major missing piece is the front bumper. Included with the car are a bunch of miscellaneous parts. Extra interior parts, extra Commander rear end and other pieces. . It will have a clear California title in my name. The car has solid floors and trunk. There is surface rust on the fenders, obviously, and some rust out in the nose of the hood and in a couple of areas of the fenders, but this is a good builder and would be great as a restoration or hot rod."
