I am the third proud owner of this 560SL. I have the records going back to 1996 when I purchased her in Atlanta. She has 155,842 miles with a light grey exterior and tan interior. This will be the 3rd time I tried to sell. Every time I have had second thoughts thinking I would restore her to her former glory. However one thing or another would get in the way, such is life. Here's a recap of major work down over the years. • Aug 2008: New convertible top along with frame. However needs to reinstalled with additional shims for proper fit • Jul 2007: Brake Calipers, Shock Absorbers, Sway Bar, Control Arm Bushings, • Aug 2006: Exhaust Manifold gaskets • June 2006: Plug Wire Set replaced • Nov 2005: Radiator Assembly and water pump • Aug 2005 : Timing Chain, Tensioner, ABS Sensor • Nov 2004: Motor Mounts • Nov 2004: Brake Master Cylinder • Aug 2002: Tie Rods, Drag Links, Power Steering Pump • Aug 2001: Transmission rebuilt at 98,646 miles Miscellaneous • Four brake dust covers installed • Windscreen with three small holes • Waterproof car cover. Not the cheap kind • Three keys • New Oil filter • Car fax report • Rubber MB mats • Honest guy At this point this 560SL needs servicing to address certain issues. Otherwise as much as I hate to say it the car can be used as a parts resource even though this would be a sad end to such a fine convertible. So what needs mending you ask? • Climate Control fan • Driver window switch drivers side • Power Steering Unit • Seat covers are in poor condition • Needs Spare Tire, have rim • Lens cover for 3rd brake light missing • Passenger door slightly dented. My own fault if you can believe that! • Radio does not work • SRS light on. Normal for this year a backup module needs to be replaced. Has no impact on operation • Purchase carpeting never installed • Paint is faded on top of fenders • Windshield needs to be replaced • Parking brake handle needs to be glued on • Muffler is rusty but still works fine I tried to be as accurate and thorough as possible. Bottom line the car needs work. However it’s priced accordingly. On a personal note I am having seller’s remorse but its time to move on. Hopefully she will find a nice home. The interior of this car is poor. Palomino leather seats with rips. Carpets and floor mats are clean with no rips or tears. Burlwood center console has some cracking but nothing that takes away from the car's beauty. CD player with a custom built speaker box that sits in the back. Also included is the windscreen. This car runs and drives nice! The A/C blew cold when the fan ran. I have had the pleasure of owning this car for 14 years and have great memories with the top down.
