Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 63 roadster originally Daytona Blue. Car originally came with a hardtop but the owner of the shop that sold this to me took the top for his own fuelie before putting the car up for sale in Oct. 2005. I have owned the car since and put slightly less than 1,500 miles on her. NOM however the engine and trans were replaced by Penske McKean Chevrolet in PA on 09/30/65. I have this documentation and service records (3 inches thick). The Daytona Blue was well scuffed so I decided to paint her black and replaced all emblems, trim, lenses, new grill, etc. paint is is pretty good condition with some stone chips. I added the side pipes and American Racing Torq Thrust Wheels as well. I added a Custom Autosound stereo as well (have original) for the ipod connection but once I added the side pipes I really didn't turn on the radio. Harleys sound like scooters next to you and they don't like it one bit! I upgraded the front brakes from drums to discs (VBP) because I didn't like the fact that the car slowed like the titanic without really getting on them. I left the interior mostly alone except the sun visors and glove box though I have saved the originals. The carpet and console is in pretty good shape as you can see from the pictures. The only real blemish that stands out is the small cut in the driver's front seat which you can see in the pics. I accidentally dropped an exacto knife and it cut through the seat $#%. The shop says a good upholsterer can fix it so it looks like new. I just have not gotten around to it. 2007 Updates (Over $7K) - Some Items listed below Dewitts Direct Fit (Black Ice) JBA shorty headers Front suspension rebuild (shocks, ball joints, idler arm, tie rods and sleeves, body stops, and A Arm bushings Engine resealed and detailed Replaced the engine and front light wiring harnesses in 2009 because I was doing the same on my 70 and thought I should do both while I was at it. Items requiring attention: Gas gauge quit when I ran out of gas...never trust the early gauges. I have secured a new one included with the purchase or you can rebuild the old one. I also replaced the sending unit Bumpers are OK but considering all the other trim was updated they could use a rechrome or replacements. I ordered these a year ago and there was a backorder that took the vendors over a year to secure (I am not kidding) that I finally got so frustrated I cancelled them when they came in If you need more pics let me know. Good luck! Open to possible trades on Vipers or 308s only.
