Here is my virtually BRAND NEW Grand Cherokee Overland. For those who know the Grand Cherokee, you know what a great deal this is on the step-up from the Limited. Why is it in such great condition you ask? I purchased this vehicle in February of 2009 with around 1400 miles on it from a former Jeep employee in California that had been laid off. The Overland was part of a severance package from Jeep. I was deployed overseas at the time and conducted the transaction via the internet and many phone calls (I had it checked out by Carchex, here is a link to that inspection: http://www.carchex.com/inspect/report/index.asp?action=view&Status=10&type=B&orderid=117166&Vin=1J8HS68258C173103 ). I had the vehicle shipped from CA to GA where it was placed in storage from March 09 until August of this year when I returned. I was not able to register it here in GA because the previous owner did not sign the title in the right place. He had moved and I was not able to locate him to correct the title. GA DMV suggested that I obtain a Surety Bond on the title to register it while I continued to locate the owner to get the title work done. The Surety Bond insures that the title is clear and that no one else holds claim to the vehicle (other than the lienholder of course). I obtained the Surety Bond through my auto insurance company, USAA. Autocheck listed this as a court-ordered bond which is not accurate as I requested the Surety Bond in order to register the vehicle and for my own piece of mind. I eventually found the previous owner about six months later and had him apply for a duplicate title which is why Carfax shows a duplicate title issued.
