Very nice for the year, 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Turbo Diesel, GL deluxe model. This rabbit is in good shape, has a minor tear in drives seat, dash and other interior is in great shape, she does need a good cleaning inside and so do the carpets. She is real quick with the standard turbo, only year the rabbit came with the turbo as a stock option. Vehicle was repainted recently on the outside, but has the original blue color on the inside. Standard options 1.6L Diesel Turbo motor 5 Speed low gear diesel Transmission, she will run 85 on the hwy, flys well at 65 Power steering Air conditioning New Items Shocks, complete new brake system,lines, master cylinder, brake booster, pads and calipers,wheel cylinders springs and shoes. New wheel bearings New Glow plugs and timing belt New tires New Battery New Windshield new engines mounts new muffler She runs and drives well, everything works, speedo, clock, fuel Gage and trips miles.Has the rear window washer and tank. She has an 8 gallon tank and get 39 to 45 MPG depending on how you drive her She does has a flicker of the lights and stereo when shifting from 1to 3 at high RMPs but it is temp and in 4-5 gears it goes away. She uses a little oil .ad does leak some. AC works but will need to be recharged. She runs well and drives well, I put new tires on her a month ago and the fronts are balding do to needing an alignment. Thats all she needs..good luck bidding On May-24-10 at 18:02:08 PDT, seller added the following information: The Rabbit does have a sunroof, it does work opens fine but will not close, you have to manually close it, it stays shut fine and does not leak. It will need a new set of front tires and I will have them put on before the winner bidder picks the car up. I have had many questions on her, I drove it from Indiana a few months ago to Colorado and she did fine even in a blizzard. It has been my daily driver, she smokes at start up but runs great.The only thing she needs is an aliment and someone to look at why the lights flicker at high rmps, seems like something is lose, ground wire or positive wire seems like a real easy fix, I will pull the fuse panel and see if it is lose there, car runs fine just loses the stereo on speed bumps for a slit second and the headlights flicker at night in 1-3 gears does not do it in 4- or 5 or with the headlights off. The odometer works and reads 202,000, but the car runs and drives like the engine has been rebuilt at sometime before then, but not sure..She gets up and goes just fine ans shifts smooth, has no problem keeping up on the highway at 70mph and runs around town just fine..great gas milage. There is no rust on the outside very very minor rust on the underside, the interior has a crack on the door panel and a crack on the rear panel, the headliner is original and still there, dirty but in decent shape, the rest of the interior is in excellent shape for a 30 year old car. Heat, wipers, headlights, defrost, rear wiper and washer fluids work fine, blinkers and radio also work, new front speakers, rear spears will need to be replaced, alpine stereo works fine and it is a radio cassette. The car history report is not acurate on the title information ebay uses under report and they do this so you will pay for their services, most dont go back to ealry 80's. as this car is very rare, the title is and indiana title, has the state seal and is fine and will transfer without any problems and is clear. Had no problems getting insurace on her, the insurance company stated they had never seen a vin like it, is orginal and matches the title.
