Vehicle Detail
This bike has been stored in my heated garage for the last 10 years. It hurts to sell it, but I've accumulated too many bikes and something has to go. I got the bike out this spring, installed a new sealed battery, drained & replaced the fuel and it started right up. The air filters are rotted, so I removed them to avoid sucking foam particles into the engine, but that's a cheap part to replace. The tach wasn't working when I started it up, looks like maybe a broken cable or the guage itself is frozen up. The bike has a new master cylinder in the rear and the brakes are working fine, but it could stand to have a new set of pads front and rear. The bike starts, runs and shifts very well. Factory electric start is in working order, as are the rest of the electrics. (The bike is wired to run with the headlight on or off.) The left hand side cover has a small crack on the top edge and there is minor pitting here and there on the chrome parts, which are all original, and other small blemishes that one would expect on a motorcycle that has been ridden. I've tried to show things the best I can in the pictures but feel free email me if you'd like clarification on anything. The front rocker spindle has a slight oil weep, which is not unusual for a T140. This is an all original, stock motorcycle, one of the last ones built by the original Coventry factory with a very rare paint scheme. You are not going to see another like it on the road. OEM Electric start makes it even more rare. I'm including an original owner's manual with the bike. The pictures speak for themselves. This bike feels like an old Bonnevile when you're in the seat riding and has a magic button to save your knees when it's time to start it. I'll accept cash on pickup or Paypal. Contact with me to make arrangements must be made within five days of auction end. On May-23-10 at 15:13:13 PDT, seller added the following information:To answer all of the questions I have received in the last 30 minutes: No I will not take less than the asking price for this motorcycle. People have offered well over the starting bid for this bike while it was sitting in the corner of my shop before they even knew if it ran or not. If you don't want to place a bid, don't bother asking me to short sell it. Sorry for sounding grumpy, but this is an auction. The bike goes to the highest bidder. If it does not sell here, I'll roll it back into the corner of my shop and put a "For Sale" sign on the handlebars.
