Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1985 VW Vanagon GL Westfalia Camper, Automatic, Air deleted but parts available, 1.9 liter watercooled waterboxer. It is currently Maryland State inspected with approximately 68-70,000 original miles. Odometer was replaced between 58-59,000 miles. I have the receipts that reflect a timeline to prove that the odometer was replaced soon after it stopped working. I bought this Westy 2/2006 with 6332 on new odometer. I had it inspected for my safety at that time and it needed a wiper blade and a rear wheel cylinder. For the current Maryland state inspection it needed a headlight, and the tint removed from the front windows. My point being that it has always been well maintained. It gets 14-15 mpg!! In the time I have owned it I replaced the entire exhaust system with S&S parts. It runs smooth and quiet, or as quiet as a VW boxer motor can be. Emission equipment is still hooked up and fully functional. I also added longer studs to the front and rear hubs to accept Mercedes alloy wheels (not included.) Hubcaps currently on this camper are Wolfsburg and were very hard to find, tires have the proper load rating to carry the additional weight of the Westfalia package. It has a new acrylic/plastic see-through roof vent. It has two fairly new Interstate batteries working off an isolator. Original rear bumper had a ding so I took it off while I searched for a new one, that bumper was stolen from my property (maybe for scrap?) The bumper shown in pictures was borrowed from my Syncro as a requirement for Md State inspection. I've also added pictures with no rear bumper so you can see that the damage did not transfer to the body. Rear bumper is included in sale if you want it. Everything pictured is included in sale. Some of those things are snap or magnetic screens for camping, a stack of receipts dating back to 1987, instructions or owners manuels for the dual powered refrigerator, the dual burner stove, the sink, the battery isolator, and the stereo. Overall condition is above average, but it does have its flaws, so please take the time to see this in person before you bid. Ask any and all questions before you bid, because your bid is a legally binding contract.
