1979 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SD - NICE CONDITION - RUNS WELL - LOW MILES: I AM OFFERING MY 1979 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SD TURBODIESEL SEDAN FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. THE CAR HAS COVERED ONLY 166,527 MILES FOR AN AVERAGE OF LESS THAN 5,500 MILES PER YEAR OVER THE LAST THIRTY-ONE YEARS. The Details - I am offering a very nice 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbodiesel for your consideration . This 300SD is a great running economical car that would be a great candidate for a grease fuel conversion if that is your desire. It is fine just the way it is. It is fully equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, cruise control, climate control, electric sunroof, original Becker Mexico AM/FM Cassette radio, and rear defroster. If you are reading this description you are probably familiar with the legendary Mercedes-Benz W116 Diesel sedans. It is among the most solid vehicles ever built by Mercedes and while extremely expensive when new, it offers incomparable luxury, quality and safety along with legendary diesel economy. What sets this car apart from other Mercedes 300SDs you might consider is the smooth and powerful turbo-charged engine, silky smooth transmission and very nice interior. There are no known mechanical or electrical issues with the car other than the A/C needing a recharge. This car is as quiet, reliable and fast as any vintage diesel you will find. The car is simply a pleasure to own and drive. The car is finished in a beautiful Mercedes-Benz Astral Silver paint with contrasting blue M-B Tex upholstery and the original coordinating fientuftvelour carpeting. The condition of the paint is good as can be seen in the pictures. The chrome is average for a car this age. The interior is excellent but for the rear seat bottom cushion which is in need of new padding (this is ultra common on the 116 body cars). There is no wear-through or discoloring on the upholstery anywhere. The zebrano wood trim is as new throughout the car, but for a couple of fissures in the clearcoat on the shift surround. In terms of mechanical condition, the car runs well. The engine has full power and the turbo operates as it should. There is no untoward smoking from the tailpipe. The car tracks straight down the road. The car can cruise effortlessly at 80-85 mph all day long. The car runs smoothly and has no known issues. The car's tires have 60% of their tread remaining and the car has a current Pennsylvania safety inspection sticker. Brakes are excellent. Fuel economy for this model is quite good. This is just a nice running 300SD that is beyond presentable. Keep in mind that this is not a new vehicle and that it is sold as-is, where-is with no warrantees implied, stated, or otherwise intended.
