Vehicle Detail
If you are a fan of classic Beemer airheads, but don't necessarily want to go back to the 60s and 70s, This "Last Edition" R100RT is a bike that should have your name on it. It has less than 20,000 miles on the clock and is finished in a gorgeous metallic-red color with hand-painted pinstripes; you will receive compliments wherever you ride. This is an on purpose nostalgia Beemer that looks, sounds and feels like the early airheads. But it also has the modern features you want too, e.g. disc brakes, single arm rear suspension, mag wheels, heated grips, solid state ignition, a very smooth-shifting 5-speed transmission and a LOT more power. Here are some of the other features and accessories that go with the bike: 1. Metzler Lasertec tires (less than 1000 mi since new), 2. New Parabellum windshield with a second, taller windscreen, 3. New custom Sargent saddle, 4. New BMW battery, 5. Garmin Quest-2 GPS (goes with the bike at the Buy-It-Now price). The recommended service is recent and fully up to date, including all fluids (receipts available). I have a spare BMW saddle, the Owners Manual + service records and a Haynes Service & Repair Manual for BMW 2-Valve Twins. The tool kit is complete and in its box under the bike's saddle. You get several spare keys and any single key operates the ignition, the saddlebags locks, and the several other locks on the bike. Cosmetically and mechanically, this great machine is absolutely flawless. The bodywork is complete and blemish free. Most people will take the bike for new, while your BMW friends will all comment that its the cleanest R100RT they have ever seen, regardless of vintage. Take another close look at the photos. It really does look this good, even when your close up and personal. Everything works as it did right out of the showroom. The Buy-It-Now price is close to the high end of last-edition Airheads, but there aren't very many left on the market, especially in this condition and with less than 20,000 miles on the odometer. Depreciation (on the basis of calendar time) for clean R100RTs has just about stopped. In fact, if you keep the bike in its present shape, you can ride it for a looong time with gasoline and occasional maintenance as your only costs. I am retired, so I can deliver the bike most anywhere, if you wish. I subscribe to the usual admonitions about overseas bidders, scammers, etc. Please do not bid unless you have the resources to complete the transaction on a timely basis. If, when you see the bike in person, you believe I have misrepresented it in any way, I will return your deposit. I have the title, the bike is fully ready to ride, but in no case will it leave my garage until it is fully paid for. I will reply to eMail and my phone number is 941/416-0931 if you have any particular questions.. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
