Vehicle Detail

This is my 1967 Buick Riviera VIN 4494877H91065. My father bought it at Kutztown Auto Co. in 1977. Some fool traded it in on a mid seventies Ford T-bird. His loss. My father gave the Riviera to me in 1982 for my graduation from high school. He kept the title til just a few years ago, but I've always had the car. Its been stored indoors since 1977. At first in my father's barn, for a time in my suburban garage, then in my own barn and now in my own pole building. The paint is original. It's never been repainted. I polished the heck out of it when I was young, but it always was thin. There is no more paint to polish. What you see is what you get. The body is rust free, save for the visible surface rust or an inperceptable bubble or two. However, the right rear quarter panel was repaired with steel back in 1981. The car was last on the road in 1983, my freshman year in college. As I left Pennsylvania in May 1983, I parked the car in my dad's barn. That's the last it was on the road. I came back a few years later, but I never again drove the car. I simply took it from place to place and stored it. Presently has 112,270 original miles. It runs swell, just like it did back in the day. I had it tuned up and serviced last fall. The brakes were pressure bled and worked OK last summer but were not rebuilt. So it has no pedal now. The wheel cylinders probably leak. You must trailer it home. Options include 430V8, Auto, Am/Fm stereo with a factory reverb box, power seats, power windows, a/c, cruise, and a delux interior, complete with rear seat door handles. The chrome is still very nice and should not require much rechrome. The car is extremely straight. The original paint lets you know what you are getting. The seat upholstry has cracks. I have an extra set of matching green 67 seat cushions that can go with the car, if you come for them. I don't recommend stuffing them inside the car lest they tear something. The headliner is fine. The dash has no cracks and the carpet is fine too. I have a folder full of my dad's papers somewhere. Back then I was a member of the Riviera Owner's Club, so I have a bunch of related papers I'm constantly digging up. Whatever I can find goes with the car. Some time ago, I purchased a set of correct Buick Riviera mags with correct center caps. They're upstairs in my barn. These mags and caps will be offered to the successful buyer, but they won't be cheap. One time ago I had six Rivieras. Over the years, I sold them all but I hung onto this one. This particular one was my first car. I always expected to restore it. Today, I'm just this side of 50. I realize that I'm never gonna restore this car. I've hung on to it for over 25 years. If I did not restore it yet, I never will. So you get perhaps the most original unmolested running barn find Riviera offered in recent times. Email your questions or for an appointment to see the car. There is a reserve, set in accordance with Old Car Price Guide and according to its present unrestored condition. Fully restored in number 2 condition would be well over 12K, number one condition brings 18K, so there's plenty of room to run if you plan to restore it. There are more photos on photobucket. Search for user id "dnaj11". Email me if you can't find them and I'll send you the link. A deposit of $500 is due at auction close. Full payment in 10 days from the close. No hurry to pick up the car so long as its paid for. In the interim, it will be stored indoors. All funds must clear before the title or car leaves. Clear title in my own name. Thank you for looking. On May-16-10 at 07:59:11 PDT, seller added the following information:All I found all of my dad's (and mine) papers and service records for this car going back to 1977. The previous owner was from Topton, PA, and traded it in for a 1971 T-bird. My dad purchased the car from Kutztwon Auto Co. on May 16, 1977. Then it had 103,193 miles. His service records and mine are included.
