Rear 1/4 Trunk Lid Front Bumper Rear Bumper Grille Glass Frame Pictures Description 1947 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible Chassis # 7402974 The Town & Country was Chrysler top-of-the-line vehicle and the pinnacle of postwar glamour. It was a dazzling expression of status when new. Powered by a 135HP 324Ci straight eight Spitfire, mated to a Fluid Drive Transmission. Produced from 1946 through 1950, the car was based on the New Yorker chassis and built in limited number. The wooden parts came from Pekin Wood Products, of Helena, Arkansas and were shipped to the Chrysler Jefferson Street plant in Detroit, Michigan, for final assembly. Chassis # 7402974 is what we typically qualify as a Barn Find in very original restorable condition. This car has been with its current owner, completely untouched since 1972 and would need a total restoration. Upon our discovery, we decided not to wash the car as a preservation effort, so the buyer would get period dust! It is non-running but rolls and we were able to move it easily with a flatbed truck in order to take the pictures. The trunk hardware is intact and will come with the car, as well as all four wheel covers and hub caps. Additional parts include extra front fenders and grilles, which appear to be NOS, including the air cleaner. It is considered a full classic by the Classic Car Club of America.
