Chassis # 1493-2005 For 1941, Packards entry level eight cylinder car was the Packard model 1901, known as the 120 Series. Production peaked at 17,100, with wooden station wagons accounting for only 358. The Packard 120 Woody Wagon was originally built by Hercules Body Co., a pioneer and well respected builder of wooden bodies dating back to the early 1920s. The company became well known for its dramatic bodies framed in light colored white ash with panels in dark mahogany. 1493-2005 was purchased by its current owner in the late 1960s in Allentown, PA. It was parked in the 1970s and has not moved since. It is an early production model (serial #5) and has the proper painted headlight rims. It has an auxiliary front bumper guard and a deluxe hood ornament. There are currently less than 15 Station Wagons registered in the Packard Club today, which makes it a very rare specimen. This is a good original car with solid wood and the lower trim moldings come with the car. Upon our inspection, we noticed that the window crank on the LH rear was broken and there is a dent in the left front fender and on the drivers side rear near the gas filler door. It is a non-running vehicle but it rolls freely and we were able to move it easily with a flatbed, for picture taking purposes.
