Vehicle Detail

This my 1979 Firebird for sale. I bought it about 4 years ago and has been stored inside since. It started out as an automatic until about a 16 months ago. A friend of mine who is a master mechanic and who has 45 years experience with muscle cars helped me completely restore the front end. We took the whole front end off including subframe and did some much needed work to a great car that just had parts wear out over time. I will keep this as brief as possible to explain the work. The 403 CID engine was completely rebuilt. The block was vated and new freeze plugs installed, new oil pump, the heads were reworked, new springs, push rods etc. A new Lunati camshaft installed, it is the next one up from what came from the factory (sorry, I don't know the exact one). It has an polished aluminum Edelbrock intake, new chrome alternator, new correct brake booster as I changed to 4 wheel disc. The firewall was painted along with the subframe and inner fender wells. All bushings were replaced, subframe and A-arm. The transmission is an M21 Muncie 4-spd which I bought used that came out of a Trans Am. I did not have it rebuilt though I wish I had because it sometimes jumps out of 3rd gear (only when you let off the gas and coast in 3rd) other than that it is strong and changes to each gear smoothly. The correct hump that goes where the shifter is was put in, it has a Hurst shifter, new center console for a stick shift. New clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and scatter shield. I had an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb on there that was great, another friend got me to get a 800 cfm to put on there which just dumped too much fuel and made it run like it shouldn't. I now have a cheap 4 barrel on there until I find probably a Rochester 4 barrel or something similar. (there will be a different carb on there if the car is sold and before pickup date) I replaced all brake lines, calipers and rotors, changed the rear end from drum brakes to posi disks. New dual Flowmaster exhaust system from front to back. The body is in great shape, floor pans are solid. There are some nicks on the paint due to age and road use but it still looks great when washed and gets lots of compliments. As you will see, one of the pictures show a couple of paint bubbles above the drivers door. I had the hood leaning up against something which moved and scraped it a bit where the bird is(it killed me when that happened). There are no cracks on any of the glass, new carpet, hush mat underneath, drivers side door panel will need to be replaced, (see picture) the AC did work before the restore but does not now, (don't know why). The trunk lid has some rust on the inside, (I have a new one, just needs to painted). New fuel tank, changed the Rally wheels to Snowflake, new tires that are 90%. I have probably put less than 300 miles since all this work is done and I hardly drive the car. My reason for selling is to buy a motorcycle. I have the car advertised locally and in other publications and reserve the right to end the auction early if sold outside of eBay. I hope I have covered everything needed to make your bidding comfortable because I too like to purchase from eBay and enjoy the same confidence you should have. I will help with delivery upto 250 miles from Byron GA.
