1970 Honda SL175 KO. First year of a three year run for these smaller, so-called, street scramblers. 174cc, 4 stroke, vertical twin, dual carburetors, air cooled, with a 5 speed transmission, street legal, kick start only. This 175 is largely original as near as I can tell, and was used locally as a commuter bike up until last year. The paint, wheels, motor, seat, cables, wiring, lights, handlebars and exhaust appear to be original as does the chrome heat shield on the exhaust. The paint has kind of oxidized, but still is the factory candy topaz orange unique to the 1970 models. The fenders and side covers are a bit scratched and the gas tank has a crease on the lower right, seen in the pictures, and the top is stained from gas spillage from filling the tank. The tank interior is fine with little or no rust. The bike starts up and runs out well in all five gears. The tires are useable and not age cracked, and the chain is fine. It could probably use fork seals, but they don't appear to be leaking at this time. There is some minor corrosion on various nuts, bolts and other steel parts.
