RARE 3000GT Spyder SL !! NO RESERVE! In Excellent Working Condition, all regular maintenance, drive home in it today! This is my baby, I've spent many fun days with the top down in this car, road trips to the beach, cruising downtown, it's been a lot of fun but it's time to move on to something new, so here we are, on the sales block today. This is the FIRST SL Spyder on eBay this season, and likely one of the ONLY SL's you're going to find all year. If you know anything about this car, you know that they're RARE... ASC McLaren didn't make very many of these to begin with, and most people never sell theirs, so you get maybe a handful every year, mostly VR4's (the insurance on those is crazy expensive - convertible turbocharged sports car), and not very many of the SL's become available. For the people joining us late in the game, this is the Convertible version of the Mitsubishi 3000GT, Mitsubishi's flagship sports car for the 90's (91-99). They were only produced as convertibles in 1995 and 1996, only 674 were ever made as convertibles, and less than 400 are driving the road today. That means, in all likelihood, you will NEVER see another one of these on the road, making you UNIQUE! They were made in two versions, the Automatic 230 Horsepower V6, the SL (this car), and the 6-Speed Manual Transmission 300 Horsepower Twin Turbo V6, (the VR4). They did NOT make an Automatic Turbo car EVER, in either the convertible or coupe, and they did not make the 5-speed manual transmission available in the non-turbocharged SL Spyders, automatic only. Leather interior on these was standard, as were power seats, remote keyless entry, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, digital A/C, and 6-disc CD changer. This was the first time in over 30 years that a retractable HARD TOP car was available in the U.S. This car resurrected the hard-top convertible and every car you see out there on the road now with retractable hard tops (Mercedes, Lexus, Jaguar, etc) is following a trend these cars started in the mid-90's. This is not a rag-top car, this is a seamless hard-top convertible with OUTSTANDING performance! Now for the details on this car: I am the 4th owner, garage kept at my home north of Nashville, TN, driven as a 2nd car only on nice days and long trips to the mountains or the beach.Meticulously maintained to dealer standards, and then some. Oil changes every 3,000 miles or 3 months RELIGIOUSLY (which is what makes these engines last). The 120k service was completed by the prior owner, no receipts, but you can see the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and lead wires, etc are all different than factory.Engine runs flawlessly. No leaks, noises, or other issues. In cold weather it needs a brief warm-up time at 1,000 RPM's (30 seconds) before it will idle smoothly, because I keep the idle set low for summer.Good oil pressure, no issues at all. Coolant flush last fall, runs very cool, fans work properly.Transmission pulls strong and shifts smoothly. The Overdrive clutch pack was rebuilt last fall, transmission flushed, and new filter installed (I have receipts).A/C blows hot in the winter, cool in the summer, automatic temperature sensor to control cabin temperature works perfectly.Stereo is aftermarket head unit, works fine, 6-disc CD changer is installed but doesn't hook up to the CD head unit that's in it now.All power options work perfectly, including the cruise control for your trip home.Paint is in excellent condition. When I bought it there was a small dent in the right fender (I have those original pictures from when I bought it and picked it up). That has been professionally repaired and painted, along with the hood and front and rear bumper to remove signs of road rash (normal rock chips and such) and the fading these plastic bumpers did over time. The rest of the car has NOT been damaged or repainted. Wheels and tires are in excellent condition, one tire could stand to be replaced. Originaly chrome 17" Spyder factory wheels from Mitsubishi are not peeling, rare for these cars, most of them peeled over time. Most importantly, the top works perfectly! It has been thoroughly tested and recalibrated to work flawlessly! You're going to love dropping it for the first time and seeing that wide-open sky! Known Issues: Front seat covers need to be replaced. They ALL pull at the seams, both the coupes and Spyders. Replacement seat covers are $300 here on eBay.Rear seat bottom cushion has a small burn hole. You can buy a replacement cushion here for less than $50, I just never got around to it. Note: the car does NOT smell like smoke at all, I'm not sure where it came from, but there are no signs it was ever smoked in.The dash tweeters were blown and I pulled them. Direct-fit replacements are available for $150 or so, I just never got around to it because it sounds find and I don't really notice that they're missing. The door panel skins are showing some wear on the interior and need to be replaced. The 98 and 99 panels didn't wear the same way and you can find them here or in salvage yards for about $75 a piece. It takes about 20 minutes to replace one, just a few philips head screws, very easy. These are all VERY minor things, but I want to be 100% up-front with what you're getting into. No surprises makes for an easy transaction when you come to get it. The auction rules are simple: You bid, you buy. Period. You are MORE than welcome to come look at it or have it inspected at your own cost BEFORE you bid. Once you bid on it, if you're the winning bidder, you OWN it. This is a binding contract in all 50 states. Please have your spouse's / mom's / dog's permission before you bid. No emails afterwards asking for a delay to do this or to get financing. Have all of that DONE well BEFORE you bid!! This is not a game. I spent real money listing this car on eBay, quite a bit of it in fact, so no zero-feedback bidders or bidders with negative feedback in the last 90 days. Period. Your bid WILL be voided. If you want to buy it, you can make me a cash offer during the bidding and complete the sale prior to the auction ending. A $500 deposit is due via Paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. That's the next day. Yes, weekends included. Yes, even if you haven't seen it yet. This tells me that you are seriously going to buy the car and I can make arrangements to take off work to meet you and complete the sale. Deposit is refundable if the car is found to be materially misrepresented when you take delivery. Payment in full is due within 5 days of the end of the auction. Yes, weekends included. Yes, even if you haven't seen it yet. If you aren't in a position to come get it immediately, you can have a car hauler pick it up and bring it to you at your own expense, but it needs to be paid in full before those 5 days are up and it must be paid in full before you can drive away with it. Winning bidder will receive a Bill of Sale along with the signed Title when I receive payment. Payment is due in cash. If you want to pay with a check, or cashier's check, it will need to clear BEFORE you can drive away with the car. Yes, Cashier's checks, too. Lots of fraud going on out there. No, I'm not interested in selling to Nigeria or Italy or Russia. No, I'm not interested in shipping the car overseas. If you are an international buyer, you can WIRE your payment to my bank and then arrange for pickup and transport to your country yourself. But all payments will be done before the car goes anywhere and the 24 hour Paypal deposit and 5 day full payment requirements still apply. Please ask ALL questions BEFORE you bid. NO bid retractions or you'll be put on a non-bidding list. None of this "see where the other bidder's high bid is at" then retracting your bid to try to snipe it at the last moment. I'll just block you. This is going to be a FAIR auction. Period. Last rule: NO RESERVE! That's right, you heard me. Whoever is the high bidder at the end wins it. As it should be. I'm here to sell the car, you're here to buy, that's what auctions are all about. So, all that said, best of luck, and thanks for looking at my auction! On May-04-10 at 18:24:50 PDT, seller added the following information:I took more pictures yesterday. Please forgive me, I didn't get a chance to wash the car, she's been in the garage the last 3 weeks while I've been out of town so she's dusty and needs a bath. :) Note the two shots of the cluster during driving conditions with good oil pressure and sitting at idle warmed up in my garage with good oil pressure. Also note the seats and door panels as I mentioned in the ad. Lastly, it has, as of this moment, 145,700 miles on it (I drove it to the Y yesterday it was too nice of a day not to).
