Vehicle Detail
1941 Ford Deluxe Tudor Sedan: This is a true survivor or "Barn Find." This Ford, with its original Flathead V8, was purchased new in Morgan, Utah. It was driven and used in this small farming community for many years and then stored. It was placed in covered storage and has been untouched until I purchased it out of the storage company. Before I bought the car, I checked it closely for rust issues and missing parts. I found minor rust in the driver's side floor and in the rear trunk section below the rear bumper. I found the car to be very complete. I have taken numerous pictures of the car and I have had the photos super-sized so you can clearly see the car. The frame, floor, and inner fender wells are dry and there is no rot - just a little surface rust. For a 70 year old Ford, it is in very good original condition condition. The flathead V8 sounds like an old sewing machine. The exhaust rumble a little, with the sounds of an old flathead, but under the hood it sounds like a sewing machine. There is nothing like the sound of an old flathead running smoothly. It shifts smoothly and the clutch works as it should. The brakes are soft, but stop the car and work as they should. The emergency brake works well. I trailered the car home to my garage and took the following steps before the engine was started: 1. Oil and filter change. 2. New spark plugs. 3. disconnected the gas tank and placed the line in a small gas filled bottle. 4. Drained and cleaned the radiator. Purchased a new six volt battery. When the new battery was connected, the interior dome lights came on. The engine turned slowly at first, but then fired up. Once it started running, it smoked a little, but as the values and rings cleared up so did the smoke. It is a good running flathead V8. I have driven the car short distances and runs good. On the negative side, the original interior is tattered and should be replaced or patched up. The car has non-original 15 inch rims and is missing the original hubcaps. Only the spare tire has the original 16 inch rim. There is a minor dent in the rear fender and the tail-light was broken. There is a replacement taillight and bracket in the trunk along with the original 97 carb, air-cleaner, and numerous other parts. (There is an NOS set of points - still in the box, and an NOS thermostat - still in the box.) A $500.00 PayPal deposit is required within 48 after the auction closes. I will keep the car in covered storage until shipping can be arranged. If you have less than 10 feedbacks on ebay, please call or email before bidding. My home phone number is (801) 745-0599. If you have any questions, please email or call. I will gladly answer any questions as completely and honestly as I can. I will cancel any bids I don't think are sincere. I highly value my 100% positive feedback score on ebay and I want the new owner to be satisfied with the car. Good luck bidding. This is a running, driving, 1941 Ford that could be driven daily with very little work. I have a clear title in my name and I have a copy of the original title. The old registration holder that wraps around the steering wheel column is still in place.
