You are looking at a 1985 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible which lived its whole life in California. The car includes the original "Golden State" plates - the type made famous by Back to The Future, L.A. Law and Beverly Hills Cop. I have driven a lot of different cars, and for reasons I can't explain, this car has received more unsolicited compliments and comments than any other car I have ever owned. I am selling the car because it did not pass California Emissions last year, and it has been parked in my driveway since then. The smog tester insisted the car would pass with a new Catalytic Converter (~$300), but the numbers are close enough that a tune-up might be sufficient. I was too busy with work to get around to it, and now that I've been laid off, I don't want to pay for new tags, etc, for a car I don't need. If you plan to buy the car for California registration, please contact me before you bid for details about tags/smog. Interior The interior is not perfect, and I've been collecting parts to make improvements. The front seats have typical seam separation on the top and bottom, with the rear seats in better shape, except for a tear in the seat back on one side. The original mats are included, but very faded; new, cheaper mats are included as well. The top goes up and down as it should, but it needs to be replaced, as it was slashed on one side - the headliner and glass portion of the top are fine, only the vinyl non-window part needs replacement. The rear windows do not go up and down, because no power is going to the switches. When I applied 12V to the switches, I was able to put the windows up and down (this is why the passenger side cover panel has been removed) Excellent, crack free dashboard Alpine in-dash unit + Alpine CD changer in glove boxSet up for substantial rear speakers with extra sound insulation and wiring already present (previous owners removed speakers before selling)Door panels are in decent shape (armrest not cracked up like they usually are) Rear seat belts do not workThe original door panels have been modified to accommodate speakers - replacement speakers with the Bose option are included.Rear windows not getting power (motors & switches work fine when power is applied) - might be a blown fuse, since these are custom for the convertibles I don't know where to check the fuseTop slashed (and poorly patched) in one place, but headliner and glass window portions are fine Top cover included (boot)Steering wheel leather is worn (has a cover on it now) - an extra steering wheel is included Exterior Overall the exterior is in good shape, with only 3 dings/scrapes worth noting (marked in red in the pictures). The paint needs to be replaced, and looks crazed/chipped up close - but since it is white, it looks good from more than ~10 feet. Being a California car, the car has no rust, but it has some surface oxidation in places where the paint has worn thin or has been chipped. Included with the car is a Rolls-Royce type grill top which replaces the stock unit on the hood. These were a dealer option, but I never installed it. Set of matching original "Golden State" license plates - Cooler than the later California plates more commonly seen Mechanical/operational The car runs and drives fine - I was driving it almost daily to work (~4 miles) when it failed to pass smog. Since I've had it, I replaced an O2 sensor, and I replaced the HEI module when it failed. New brakes (according to previous owner) Climate control works except the A/C, which stopped blowing cold shortly after I started driving it (needs recharge or conversion)Cruise control, parking brake release, etc. all workFactory security works Trunk has to be opened with electric release (no idea why) Extra Parts Most of these parts are not convertible specific - but the extra convertible top frame and extra stainless top trip are extremely rare convertible specific parts.
