Vehicle Detail

This is a 1950 chevy 2 door. We call it the ice cream car because on Thursdays our local ice cream shop has a cruise night and we'd take it there with the kids. Heres its story: about 7 years ago I bought it from a local seller that said I'd never get it running. I was going to restore it. I started by getting it to run first since it had been sitting about 25 years. Well, after a few nights of work it actually ran! I then started taking the interior out which was mouse infested. At this point I realized that this car was too rusty to continue and by coincidence came across another car from the south to restore instead. This one was to be the parts car. Well, the other car was sold unfinished and I still had this complete car, minus the upholstery. At this point, I decided to make it a driver, why not? it ran. To make it a runner I patched up the floor pans and painted the whole inside with rustoleum gloss black. My kids picked out the material to re upholster the seats- red shag velour and black backs. I put seatbelts in the back for the kids. I wanted a nice dash to look over so i painted it with the black/red theme. youll see the spaces in the dash, I never had the radio for the car and never painted the clock/ashtray that comes with it. Above all the car had to be safe, so I replaced ALL brake lines and hoses, rebuilt the master, replaced all the wheel cylinders and shoes. The car runs and drives great and I have regularly taken it on my 60 mile commute to work. The only thing is it screams at highway speeds because these things have 4.11 rearends. Also, the fuel guage doesnt work but all the rest do. as well as the lights. Id honestly not have a problem driving it anywhere. its been super reliable form the start. Under the hood its got a new battery last summer, newer fuel pump, and cap/rotor. This car has a factory split exhaust manifold. It doesnt say Fenton on it and has the firing order cast into it so I assume factory. I have the exhaust going two into one and then into a glasspack/turndown. The spare tire is original and never been on the ground, check out the writing and nubs still on the tread. It did however sit it water for some time and rust the rim. also, although the car is rusty, the hood trunk and doors are in geat shape. Some of the parts that I took off never went back on. I have all of them and they go with. I also have some extras that will go too. This is a cheap way to get into old cars. please feel free to ask any questions, thanks for looking. p.s. dont tell my kids I'm selling it, they'll be mad! On Apr-19-10 at 09:37:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question about how the floors were repaired, they were repaired with flat sheet and rivets. while not the right way to do things, it is very solid. it just didnt make sense on this car to try to weld in the real pans, kind of just like lipstick on a pig. I just wanted to be up front /no surprises. thanks On Apr-19-10 at 19:06:01 PDT, seller added the following information: p.s.s.-- Yeah, theres rocker trim there, but the rockers are gone too.
