Vehicle Detail

For sale is a very clean 1979 Chevy 1/2 ton Scottsdale 4x4 classic collector pickup truck. Starts & runs excellent. Fresh motor & tranny. Within the last 5,000 miles it has had: Freshly rebuilt 400 motor (with vortec heads for better power & economy, RV cam, high volume oil pump). New heater core (has great heat) New U-joints New shocks Within the last 2 weeks it has had: Freshly rebuilt turbo 400 heavy duty transmission with a shift kit. It shifts perfect. Brand new Holly 4 barrel 600 cfm carb. New water pump & fresh antifreeze. Oil change ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has dual exhaust with nice Magnaflow stainless tips, one on each side of the truck. It has, in my opinion, the perfect sound. It's got a nice deep loud rumble when you step on the gas hard, but when you're taking it easy or just cruising, it's not very loud. Truck has suspension lift, and 33x15.5 Super Swamper tires that are near new. Looks awesome with the lift & big tires! Also has Warn lockouts, after market cowl hood, spray-in bedliner, visor, roll bar with lights (lights on roll bar are not currently hooked up, the wire for them is wrapped up under the bed. They're more for looks). The truck has lots of power & torque. My mechanic said he would guess it's around 325 hp and very good torque with the 400 motor set up with the vortec heads & RV cam. The body of the truck is good, not perfect, but good. There are a few small flaws here & there, but overall pretty nice. I tried to get pictures from all angles so you can see for yourself. The bed of the truck is extremely nice, it looks like no one ever even hauled anything in it. Tailgate works very good. Cab doors work good too. Has a CD player, door speakers, and a speakerbox behind the seat (I took it out for the pictures). The only issues that I can think of is that a few times the dash lights flickered on & off . If you tap on the dash by the gauges & they came back on. It hasn't happened in a while, so I haven't bothered trying to find the loose wire back there. The wiper switch sometimes is finicky. I've had to wiggle it a few times to get the wipers to shut off. The wheels have a little corrosion, they could use a little cleaning up. And the speedometer isn't accurate, probably because of the big tires. It reads probably 10 mph under what you're driving. This would be a great truck to have a lot of fun with. 2 other nice things about a classic truck compared to a newer one: You can get collector plates that you pay for once, then never again! (that's the way it is in WI anyway). Saves lots of money not having to pay the yearly registration costs! And collector insurance is dirt cheap. Check with Hagerty Insurance for a quote. I'll bet with an agreed value of $10,000 and no deductible, you'd probably pay less than $300 a year. There's way more money invested in this truck than what I'm starting the auction at. Add up all the work done to it recently to get it ready to sell & you'll see. Just the Super Swamper tires alone cost $263 each. That's $1,052 just in tires! You wont find many classic trucks cleaner than this one. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a good 8.5 at least, maybe higher. It's a really fun truck & gets lots of attention. It looks, sounds, & drives great. You won't be disappointed with this truck! It's impressive. If you're serious about the truck, I can give you my mechanic's number so you can call & talk to him firsthand about the mechanical condition of the truck. Only if you're a serious buyer, though, I don't want 100 people calling & bothering him. I require a $200 deposit through Paypal within 48 hrs of auction end, and the balance in cash or certified bank check within 2 weeks.Truck to be picked up within 30 days of auction's end. I can deliver the truck for you for $1.50 per loaded mile. However, if delivering, I require full payment of purchase price plus delivery charges before I leave to deliver it. As with any used vehicle, it is sold as – is, with no warranty included. You are welcome to come & inspect and/or test drive before you place your bid.Truck is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. Check my feedback, it's 100%. I've bought & sold a few other vehicles on Ebay, so you can trust I'm not a scammer. Please bid only if you plan to follow through with the transaction. Feel free to email with any questions.
