1960 Fiat 600 Trasformabile Classic original suicide door car Solid restoration project stripped down to get ready for paint I bought this car as a restoration project for my daughter, figuring I would get her to help work on it a little and pick out all the colors and custom touches, etc., while I did the majority of the work. I had planned to give it to her for her 16th birthday. At least after mom and grandma talked me out of giving it to her a year earlier. Unfortunately (for me) the mother in law must have seen it coming, and gave her a used Dodge Neon for her 15th birthday. My heart sank as I smiled and tried to be happy for her. So my loss is your gain. My heart's not in this project now. I have a couple others, mostly twin cams which I know better and including a 124 sedan for the boy, so this one has to go. It's basically a solid little car that's stripped down to get ready for paint. When I started, I thought I had all the parts, but as I get everything together I notice I can't find some items. Including the rear seat bottom cushion, oil pan, door glass, and front windshield. If I happen to find these they will be included, but for now, what you see is what you get. This would make a great project. You could drop in an Abarth 1050 and make it into an 850TC clone or fix it up all stock. It's the rare "convertible" body style (bascially a big sunroof that folds back with a frame like a convertible top does). I think I'd be inclined to take this down to bare metal and totally restore it to original spec. It has the water cooled inline 4 cylinder 633cc engine, with 4spd manual floor shift, suicide doors, roll up windows, heater (which may have been an option), and 12" steel wheels with hubcaps. Much of the interior and the top material are there for patterns. Included is a new reproduction bumper. About all I can think of right now. If you want to come inspect the car (or hire someone to do it for you), it's near Salem, OR. and I can be available by Appointment tues & wed. evenings and during the day Friday through Sunday. This car doesn't currently run, can't be driven across country after you fly out here, and would ideally be transported by you on a trailer to your restoration facility. This car rolls freely, is small (5ftx11ft?), light weight (1400lbs?), and can easily be shipped to your destination domestically or overseas. At your expense and arranged by you of course. There are several, including container ships, out of Portland, OR. Which is north of me a ways. I may be able to get it there for an additional $100 fee.
