Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2004 BMW 330xi with the rare combination of all wheel drive and a 6-speed manual transmission. Lots of fun to drive and it has heated seats and hill descent control just in time for winter! This car is approaching 156k miles and is in good shape but is a 14 year old car. This car was my daily driver for the past 3 years and I am begrudgingly selling it after getting a newer BMW a couple months ago. For more photos, please visit this link The good:The e46 is one of the best BMWs ever made. It's the last of the "mechanical BMWs" and a great all around car:Seats 4 comfortably (5 in a pinch)Fun to driveDecent gas mileageGood interior space, especially with the rear folding seatsAWD for traction in snow/ice and better cornering.6 Speed manual transmission. More durable than the autos on these cars and substantially more fun. This car has nearly every option available for 2004, including:Leather seatsHeated SeatsSunroofHarman Kardon premium soundSport PackageFold down rear seats 60/40 or pass-throughSki-bag included (stored in my garage, not pictured)Xenon HeadlightsAUX input on stereoClear title in hand There is not much rust on this vehicle for it being a midwest car but it's starting to show in some places (please see pictures)Fuel economy of 18/28 seems pretty accurateRexing Dashcam included (records automatically when ignition is on and shuts off when the key is off) Recent/notable maintenance:Oil changed every 10k miles in the past 3 yearsNew BMW starter and oil separator in May 2017Heavy duty Suplex rear springs and Bilstein B6 DY rear shocks in June 2017Front right axle replaced in November 2017Spark Plugs in April 2018New rear tires September 2018 (fronts had enough tread left)New serpentine & accessory belt in October 2018 The bad:If you know about e46 BMWs, you know they consume oil. This one does too. My rough estimate is this car goes through a quart ever 400 miles. When I changed the spark plugs, they looked great and didn't suggest any issues due to burning oil.The steering wheel has a bit more play in it than I think is normal. A visual inspection under the car doesn't show anything obvious but you might want to get this looked at. Or maybe it just feels that way compared to my new car.Clutch sometimes is very difficult to launch smoothly. This doesn't seem to correspond to cold weather/ not having been driven or anything else I can figure out. It just seems choppy occasionally. This happens maybe once or twice a week if driving daily and I got used to it pretty quickly.Right rear window occasionally won't roll up until you flip the switch a bunch of times..Headliner is starting to peel back from the A pillars.Rust spots are present a few places: Behind rear wheel on driver's side, behind passenger's side front wheel, on driver's door jamb and surface rust near trunk latch. On uneven ground the front doors don't stay open easily. I bought new door check/stops for both doors but haven't installed them yet. They'll come with the car.Normal wear and tear around usable parts. Car is sold as-is with no warranty or guarantee of any sort. I highly encourage you to come see the car in person. It is 14 years old and has 150k+ miles on it and while my intent is to represent it accurately, there may be things I missed or ignored. Please bid accordingly. If you have any questions, would like specific pictures, or would like to arrange a time to see the car in person, please let me know. Car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. $500 deposit via Paypal is due 48hrs after auction end.
