Vehicle Detail

What you are looking at is likely one of the worlds finest, lowest mileage, original and unmolested 1996 Buick Roadmaster Sedans available. Being the final year for this, the last full size GM B-body Buick sedan, all were dubbed "Collectors Editions" as the hood ornament states. This unit is wears all its original code black paint, and has grey leather, in Limited trim. Additionally, it does not have any vinyl roof trim which gives it a much cleaner look. The electroluminescent "Limited" badges on the C-pillars are functional. I flew from NJ to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1999, when this car was 3 years old and had 16,000 miles and bought it from the original owner who had always garaged it and gave it meticulous care. I drove it back to NJ and have maintained it as a family vehicle since then, first used by me and then in 2005, I sold it to my father who is now 85, and he hardly ever drove it, but it has been garage-kept all its life. The Corvette-derived 5.7L LT1 engine with true dual exhaust and 4L60E trans was standard issue in all these 1996 Roadmasters. However, if you wanted to get all that power to the pavement most quickly, you were not going to be happy with the standard slug-like 2.56 rear end, so you needed to order the factory towing package to get the highest performance 2.93 gear set, and unless you enjoy excessive wheel-spin, you needed to also order the G80 locking rear differential, only available once the tow pkg was in hand. This car has all this specific equipment plus the FE2 firm-handling suspension with HD springs and thicker sway bars. So if you want your final-edition Roadmaster Limited sedan black/grey leather without a vinyl top and you want all the key factory performance options, you have found one of only 59 built this way according to the Compnine VIN database. The straight-line performance of a Roadmaster so-equipped is exactly the same as that of the 1996 Impala SS, as Motor Trend testing when new had this specific version of the Roadmaster clocking 0-60 times of 6.7 seconds. Many people don't know that due to the efficiency of the power-train, coupled to the good aerodynamics and lack of excess weight, these cars actually deliver consistent 25-26 MPG highway. Condition Report Paint - no scratches, swirl marks, bird shit stains, tree sap stains, squashed bug marks, the paint is blemish-free and there is zero fade on any exterior surfaces consistent with a car garaged both night and day. The paint is all original to the car and there may be a half-dozen or so tiny chips that were touched up with factory paint over the years. Body - no dings or dentsTrim - no blemishesUnder-hood - no rust, all tags and markings in placeInterior - no damage, not even one scrape on any plastic, the leather, dash, and all carpeting were covered from new until just now, revealing a mint interior, never any smoking or dogs allowed. Undercarriage - original stainless exhaust. Floor-pans were dealer-undercoated when new and show no signs of rust, same for the frame itself. Some minor surface rust on some untreated under-body components, consistent with some winter driving in the northeast early in the cars life. Mechanical - regularly serviced and every component in the vehicle operates exactly as it should. Brand new battery. Car has G67 auto-level rear air shocks and the fronts are Monroe severe-service units. No check engine light on and all monitors ready. Car performs flawlessly as i just drove it nearly 100 miles at 75-80 mph and I'm a mechanic with so much experience with this particular type of car and power-train, that if it as much as farted, I would have noticed. No leaks visible from underneath and no drippings on the garage floor. While I am a licensed NJ used car dealer, I am selling this car, as well as a wagon in similar condition, as a private individual, because I bought this car when it was three years old, and my name still appears on the title, and the car fax verifies this status. If you require a 30-day temp tag to enable you to drive it home, then I will sell the car as a dealer, your choice. No accidents listed on car fax and none ever occurred otherwise. This vehicle, and the wagon like it, can be seen only by appointment Monday-Friday, but not on Wednesdays. My cell is seven three two five three nine four zero four zero and you may call me seven days from 8am - 8pm EST. I would rather not have to respond to texts and emails from buyers within the US, so if that's where you are, then pick up the phone and call me if you are a buyer, any unanswered calls will be returned same day. If you are outside the US, then I will be happy to entertain emails from you if you first reveal your location. Foreign buyers are welcome, as I have had positive experiences selling cars to buyers in Europe, the Middle East, and even Australia. While I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements, I will not be responsible for any shipping costs or any damage not listed on the shipping manifest. If vehicle is paid in full, indoor storage is available free of charge for a reasonable period. The pricing on this car signals both its quality as well as its scarcity, and has been designed to entice those who can both appreciate and afford the best available. Feel free to call and discuss if you can foresee yourself owning this unique car that is being offered for sale for the first time since I bought it from the original owner in 1999.
