1981 Volkswagen Pickup Diesel 1.6 liter diesel, standard manual transmission and front wheel drive. This rare VW diesel pickup has only 39,150 original miles. It drives great; the engine is strong, the transmission shifts good. Includes fitted bed cap. It has new battery, new fuel filter, new air filter and ¾ tank fresh fuel. Starts and runs strong. Has new fuel booster pump to overcome aging injection pump. Result is instead of sucking air and running rough it has plenty of fuel including some that leak past the injection pump seal. Includes Bentley, Chilton and 2 editions of Haynes manual. This pickup is blue with blue interior. The body has some rust expected for its age but none in the important places like shock towers or underbody (see pictures). It has 39,150 miles, low for a diesel or any car 37 years old. Stock steel wheels with original chrome center caps. Older white wall style tires. Truck dust cover included. Original floor mats and new ones included. Dash is mint with no cracks, headliner is a bit saggy. I am the only the third owner and knew the previous owners. All previous bills of sale included. Large folder with all receipts of work done since it was new. Clean title. Original owners manual, original maintenance records booklet, and the original 2 VW keys included.
