Vehicle Detail

This car is not titled as in Vermont where I registered it titles were not required due to it's age. I am selling this 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MKII with 33069 miles on it. I have decided at my age their a projects that will not be completed. This Healey needs a complete restitution but will make the lucky puncher some most enjoyable driving. The original owner " a service man home on leave" had run off the road and into a field hit some rocks and bent the left side of the bumper, a small dent on the left front fender dented the left front wheel rim and the oil sump. It was then left in a field for over a year and a half with no cover. I purchased it and put it storage until 1981 when I removed the fenders sanded and painted the wheel arch and inside fenders and the body, sanded and painted the body. It ran from the summer of 1982 to the spring of 1983, after which I put in storage in my garage. After I put it up I started to disassemble the car removed most of the easy parts and that is where I left it. All the hydraulics were bad and the throttle connection in front of the fire wall was broken. I had a local Mechanic who has a history of working on sports cars, repair the hydraulics and throttle connection. He replaced the rear brake cylinders, installed new piston kits for the front disks without separating the calipers and replaced the master cylinder. The clutch master was replaced with the slave. All hydraulic lines were repaired or replaced and has a new SU fuel Pump. Due to the location of the throttle rod he could not easily repair the throttle rod. The engine has had no work done on it. It ran great when I put up. It is running now but only on 5 cylinders and it spits and fires back thru the number one carburetor. I have 3 spare rims including the one with the dented rim and the spare. The fuel tank is pitted with only a few pin holes. The only visibly rusted through are the rocker panels and the inner sills. The floor panels are rusted but may be OK. No tool box, the top frame assembly holding the top is broken at the pivot point and should be easily repaired. The right outside door handle is broken, shift knob missing and possibly other small parts.
