Vehicle Detail
With buy it now only, you are buying this 70-72 GS hood along with this COMPLETE 1970 350 coupe skylark its attatched to.It has its original SB code 350 4V.Last 5 digits of cars vin read 84786...84786 is stamped on engine block(see pic).Q-jet carb is original to car.Numbers 7040244...with date of 90th day of 1970,making it first week of April 1970..car was built second week of April 1970..Its turbo 350 transmission may be original maybe not, i can't make out the numbers well enough....I think I see a 9 where a 1970 would be a 0...possibly making this a 69 trans..but i can't tell one way or other.I was told trans is good,i have no way to tell, but turbo 350s are simple and very strong long lasting transmissions.Had not run since 1995...points were closed and dizzy cap was shot..yesterday I cleaned and gapped its points put on new cap...cranked her for at least a minute off and on to oil all,and she fired right up with no noise or smoke on starting fluid only...Thats as far as I went.Every panel and trunk floor have some rust/rot...trunk lid frame and floors appear very solid...That said...im selling this as a hood and you get the above described parts car FREE.......so everything besides the hood is FREE. ...dont dream here...again PARTS car... dashpad looks pretty good...Right door glass was broken out...replacement comes with sale. Its got 4 chrome buick wheels. The car easily rolls and steers...dont know if brakes work, but id bet no.Im big and strong and will help push this up onto your trailer or transport. ..THE HOOD...entire top surface is straight and appears rot free.....there are about 3 small spots on the thin metal under bracing that will need attention ,but nice and straight no bends easy spots to fix, opens and closes real well as do both doors and trunk lid. Both ramair grilles are there. If you need a 70 drivetrain here ya go,and part out the rest.We will be moving in the next year so I have to move some cars and no time to part this out.Sold as is where is.Im selling for less than i paid and i had to transport it in.So,you can bolt this hood on your car and use as is or do little work to the underside and make it a nice hood.If no one jumps on this deal,i will pull the engine and trans and the hood, make some easy repairs to hood as Ive done metalwork well for 30 years, and then ask plenty for the hood alone,i don't want to but will if i need to,I just simply don't have the time. The car is NOT a GS....its a 350 sport coupe skylark with optional SB code 350 4V and someone a long time ago, installed a GS hood. Asking prices for poor 70-72 GS hoods to great hoods to perfect NOS hoods range from many many hundreds to many thousands...So,will I take less than my buy now for the entire car?Absolutely not.I won't respond to offers. Will I sell the hood alone? Not at this point,no.Must be picked up in one week from auction end.I have the cars clean clear transferable title. Please no nonsense no tire kickers no hood kickers. There is no battery.Thank you.
