All upgrades and maintenance done by myself and the automotive shop I have owned for 24 years. Truck has the best of everything. No expenses were spared. It was built with an open wallet to be the best of the best and perfectly balanced. You can drive this anywhere, reliably with 25+ MPG. Over $15K in extras to take a nice truck and make it a PERFECT truck. Rare Original Highland Green metallic paint which is the same color used on the Bullitt Mustang. I wanted that color because I also own a 1968 Mustang in Highland Green. It is a beautiful color!! Factory paint was color sanded and buffed to perfection at a cost of $3K when new. Windows were tinted with X-pel tint the day I brought the truck home from Raceway Ford to keep interior cooler. Ford Accessory mud flaps were installed the day I took the truck home as were the Ford Accessory fog light kit that make a big difference for night driving. I also purchased a brand new leather wrapped steering wheel for an Explorer and installed it as I didn't like the cheap feeling vinyl wrapped steering wheel the Ranger came with. I also purchased an Explorer overhead console and with outside temperature, and compass and wired it to work in the truck. Husky all weather floor mats front and rear were put in right away also over the original mats which still look like new. I drove the truck as a secondary driver for 10 years and 65K miles and then decided the truck needed more. In that time it was only caught in the rain 2X, both on trips to AZ and back. It has always been garaged since day 1. I was always unhappy with the lack of power and not very good fuel mileage, so I decided to do a full build on the truck. I purchased a brand new (not re-manufactured) shortblock from Ford, added a Morana reground camshaft specifically ground for the Ford Racing Whipple supercharger, roller rockers, and for excellent bottom end torque and fuel mileage. Original heads were re-worked with hardened intake and exhaust seats, a full valve job, upgraded valve springs, new valve seals, and some mine port matching. Crane 1.7 roller rockers and custom length pushrods were added. Lower Intake manifold also got some porting. All bolts and hardware was bought new. I added a new Ford water pump, oil pump, cam synchronizer, timing chain, and all Fel Pro gaskets. All hoses and serpentine belt new. All oil gallery holes were chamferred for better oil flow back to pan. Bosch 36lb flow matched injectors were added as well as a 255 LPH Holley in-tank fuel pump and a new sock. Headers are Gibson smog legal shorties mated to the factory catalytic converters routing into a full 2.5" mandrel bent aluminized exhaust with polished rolled stainless tip. Factory airbox was modified to flow more air and has an AEM re-usable air filter that flows through a 4.0 Mass air meter. I had the transmission upgraded with a new brazed higher stall torque converter, modified valve body, extra red Raybestos red clutches, and a shift kit. Driveshaft is 4" diameter aluminum and is high speed balanced to 200 MPH with stronger U-Joints. Rear differential came out of a 5K mile Explorer and was upgraded with a Torsen Ford Racing posi unit and 3.73 Ford Racing gears. Axles are 31 spline and it has rear disc brakes. Axle fluid is Royal Purple 75W-140 full synthetic and transmission fluid is Royal Purple Max ATF. Engine was properly broken in with Royal Purple Break in oil for 400 miles, then non synthetic oil for 1000 miles, then changed the oil to full Royal Purple Full Synthetic 5W-40 at 1400 miles. Truck now has power to spare from idle up to 5K RPM, is much smoother, and much more efficient. It was not tuned for max power, but for max efficiency and torque. Makes over 300 HP and 320 ft lbs of torque and will get 25+ MPG if you drive it easy on the freeway. Truck weighs around 3K lbs so it is very quick for what it is. Everything on the truck was very well planned and engineered. Nothing rubs, leaks, or vibrates, and it is tuned to perfection with no lag or flatspots. Truck has the street manners of a stock vehicle until you punch it, then it is a beast. It is certainly capable of more power, but I wanted it to maintain stock like street manners when driving normally with zero issues. Took a huge amount of tuning to get perfected, but it truly is the cream of the crop now. All factory Ford electronics still function as intended. Everything is completely sorted on this truck so you don't have to do a thing. Nothing leaks or seeps. Hop in and drive this anywhere!. Waxed at several times per year, and underside, engine box, door jams and bed always detailed each time it is washed since new. Most of the time I would put it on my lift and wipe everything down with a damp microfiber, then spray it with aerosol protectant. This has kept the underside like new in every way. Paint looks wet when it is dry. Look at the refection's in the paint in my pictures below. Anytime it ever got a chip it was touched up right away with the Dr. ColorChip system where you would be hard pressed to ever find the chip again. It looks, starts, runs, smells, and drives like new. All rubber moldings and weatherstrips look like new. Truck stays cool even on 120 degree Palm Springs summer days with the A/C on!! I tend to way over maintain all my vehicles and it shows. Suspension and steering is tight with no wandering or looseness, no clunks when going over bumps, brakes stop on a dime, immaculate interior and underside. Never eaten in, smoked in, spilled in, or interior soiled, and even still smells like new. Original Ranger logo floor mats are covered by the Husky all weather floor mats that I put in when truck was brand new. I have the original window sticker, owner's manuals and supplements and audio CD that I never been opened. I have both original chip keys and remotes with no button wear. No worn down seat upholstery or foam here. I upgraded the sound system in 2014 with a Kenwood head unit with phone mirroring, HD Radio, Bluetooth, Satellite & Navigation capable, and back up camera, 2 amps (one Kicker mounted on rear fold down seat, and one Alpine under pass side seat. Speakers are all upgraded and there are 10 total including 4 6X9's, 4 2" round tweeters, and 2 JL Audio 12" Subwoofers in a custom made box that still allows rear seat passengers on the 2 flip down jump seats with built in seatbelts. Stereo sounds incredible and crisp. I spent $3K on this system. I also removed the headliner and interior panels and installed Hushmat peel and stick sound deadener and foam. Makes the interior super quiet, cuts down on road noise and keeps cabin cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. A great amount of time was spent fitting everything to perfection so that the interior feels an looks more high end. I upgraded the side marker lights and the rear tail lights with new unit from Ford for a 2006-2011 Ranger for a newer look. Optima Battery is a year old and there is a hard wired Battery Tender harness hidden in grill so you can keep battery charged with out having hood up. There are Redline Tuning Elite hood shocks to hold the hood up instead of the factory prop rod. Extang bed cover has been on since new and still looks new. It is nice because if you ever have a larger load, you can either take it off easily by yourself, or you can un-clip it from the aluminum frame and let the load sit through it. When it is on it is weather-tight. No water gets in bed when you wash the truck. I had the bed Line X'ed when new also with the anti-fade additive. It looks absolutely new with no marks or dings. Rubber bed mat also protects it. Truck also had a Pop N Lock tail gate lock and locking gas cap. I installed a Hidden Hitch that will tow 5K lbs and it has a flat 4 pin connector for a trailer. All I ever towed with is was a small 2200lb fresh water fishing boat a few times. It towed like there was nothing behind it. No pets or young children have ever been in it. There is not a nicer, Ranger available. I can honestly say that, because there are none other like this truck anywhere for sale. Look around, you'll waste a great deal of time and then see what I am talking about after this is sold. If you want a project, please buy one, as this is not it. In my 24+ years in the automotive business, I have rarely seen, owned, or driven a nicer built and well done vehicle that is so fantastically built and taken care of. I have owned over 1000 Mustangs, Shelby's, Big Block's, Boss's, Pantera's, Saleen's, Corvette's, Camaros, Roush's, Cobra's. Lightning's etc, mostly collector models, and rarely see a vehicle (of ANY type) kept in this condition. I am overly fanatical with all my cars. Suspension and steering is smooth and not bouncy or twitchy when driving down the road, or on the freeway and handles excellent. When I did the drive-train 7200 miles ago I also replaced the front upper and lower control arms, replaced all the shocks with Monroe units for a smoother ride, modified a 2003 Cobra steering rack to work on this truck for its faster ratio,and added a Hellwig rear sway bar to the Explorer rear end. These changed made a HUGE difference in not only handling, but responsiveness. Before, when driving on mountain roads or getting on a freeway on-ramp, the back end would feel like it wanted to come out from under it. Now it stays flat and you can take on-ramps and corners at a much higher speeds with complete control. Does not wander when on freeway. I will include either the original chrome 15x7" wheels with 3K mile Firestone Destination LE2 tires replaced in 2015, or the brand new 18X8" 2018 Mustang wheels with Pirelli tires. I took pictures of both options. You pick which ones you want with the truck. This truck is appraised and insured for $25K on my collector car policy and it is $585 per year for full coverage and agreed value of $25K. Most insurance companies will do the same for you and insure it as a collector vehicle and it is only going to continue to climb in value if kept in this condition.
