Vehicle Detail
Super solid survivor. Three owners including me. Aside from one re-paint, it's 99% original and in fantastic working order. Pump the gas a couple times and it fires right up and holds about 1600 rpm. Tap the gas after a min, and it drops right down to 800rpm. Fresh tune up, tires, oil, and new plugs and wires. It couldn't run any better. Zero smoke, zero hesitation, runs cool, and plenty of torque all the way through. Shifts perfectly, clutch is smooth, tracks straight with no play, and stops straight and on a dime. Simply put, it's mechanically sound. No oil leaks, no exhaust leaks. This is a VERY well taken care of Scrambler that spent it's life garaged. The color is 'Paradise Green', and it looks even better in person. Looks great in any light, and particularly awesome parked next to a lake. Originally tan. Lights, gauges and heat all work great. Seats, console and dash all in great shape. New bikini top, and yes I do have a mint white hardtop, and matching green hard doors in excellent shape. I'll post pics of those in a couple days. The only rust to speak of is some bubbling around the base of the roll bar. That's it. The chassis, panels, floors, doors, windshield frame, bed, and tailgate are all original metal and SOLID. A turn-key driver you could take anywhere and feel proud of. Of course it has it's share of nicks and scratches, but nothing that noticeable. Very hard for me to sell this, but I have a '62 Buick waiting on my attention, and can't keep both. Wish like hell I could. These Iron Duke 4 cyl Scramblers are the best kept secret going. 90% of the hp and tq of the 258's, TWICE the gas mileage, and built to last forever. I took this rig on a camping trip and got 27mpg. It was loaded up and I never once struggled to conquer the big hills. This is also the first year for the wide-track CJ's. No disappointments with this Jeep! Feel free to read my feedback. Rear seat bolts to the floor and has dual seat belts built-in to the frame. Nice, rare bed mat as well. My apologies for having to say this, but please please please do NOT bid unless you have the funds! I will be happy to assist with transport. If you're not too far, I may even be willing to drive it to your door. This is a real auction, so No Reserve. Also, no 'Buy it Now". I prefer to let the auction run it's course. Any questions you can contact me directly at (585)474-3794 via text or phone. My name is Jim. Video of Jeep running wouldn't transfer/load. I have it on my phone and will gladly send it to anyone who requests it. She's a very strong runner.
