It's a long story but I'll ry to keep it as short as possible. I bought this car last year with a bad motor from an acquaintance. I found a perfect motor with 89k on it, I installed the motor and it wouldn't start, kept getting the immobilizer warning on the dash. So I had it towed to the local Volvo dealer, they told me it was the immobilizer. I paid them almost $1000 and they couldn't get it to start. They claimed it might be the computer, so I sent it out to a rebuilding service and took it to the dealer, still no luck!The engine turns over fine when I jump the starter, at this point I'm at a loss as to what it could be.I've changed upwards of fifty engines over the years all makes and models, this is the first time I worked on a Volvo and the only one I've had any trouble with. I know the car ran before the motor went.
