Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 2008 Mazdaspeed3 (VIN: JM1BK34LX81836607) with approximately 146k miles on it. I bought the car last January to be my daily driver but wanted something that would be a bit of fun around town too. A few months after, I ended up replacing my other car with a golf GTI and since my wife has been driving this, commuting about 40 miles roundtrip. Since owning it, I have put about 16,000 miles on it, including a road trip to and from New Hampshire from Raleigh. Truth be told, I would not hesitate to get in it right now and do that trip again.Car does have bolt on modifications that include:H&R CoiloversSure Motorsports Sway BarsSure Motorsports Short Ram Air InakeSure Motorsports Shifter CounterweightJBR Motor and Transmission MountsCatback exhaust (unknown manufacturer)Carbon Fiber HoodPoly bushingsI also have a Cobb Accessport V2 that I bought for the car and will be included in the purchase. I got it mainly to view and log data on the car. I have some logs for the car that I can provide upon request. Here's the negatives I would say about the car:Currently has a check engine light for the EGR (P0401. Picture taken with my OBDII scanner showing the code). I have cleaned the valve and the pipe, but the code has remained. If I were to keep it, I was just going to get an EGR delete and a tune to code out the light. There is a boost leak somewhere in the system. I bought a little tester and hooked it up. The turbo held compression no problem, all the intercooling pipe work and intercooler itself seemed to be ok, but I could not find any evidence of a leak, even with soapy water applied I didn't see anything. The boost leak tester will be included with the vehicle.Interior is about a 5/10. There is wear on the steering wheel, a few holes in the driver seat, and wear on the floor mats. Shift boot shows wear and crack on the plastic liner for it. Nothing crazy considering the age, but it is not a show car.Exterior is about a 5/10 as well. There are some scratches on the bumpers, wheels have some curb rash, and headlights have some clear coat peeling. Again, nothing crazy for its age but also not in perfect condition. No major damage though and has a clean title with no record of the car ever being in an accident.See above pictures that highlight the issues with both the interior and exterior. The positives of the car:The engine and drivetrain of the car are in very good shape. I have all the records of what I have done to the vehicle and some from previous owners. I can show that the car has had regular oil changes throughout its life. I had the oil analyzed by blackstone labs on the last change. They only noted that the metal was slightly higher than their baseline average, but it was comparing changes at 4700 miles while mine was done at about 7000. This report will come with the other records and I can send it to a perspective buyer. The car handles extremely well. The suspension upgrades really show when taking turns. The coilovers are a bit on the stiff side (I had them adjusted to their softest setting) so you can feel the bumps, but other than that it does feel very planted. Notes on the car:Car shifts smoothly and clutch grabs well. Turbo has slight shaft play. I was told this when other work was being done. I have recently inspected the turbo and there is no damage to the fins or housing. As I have read up on and understand, side to side play isn't a big deal as long as its not interfering and there is no play in and out which causes more problems. There is also a bit of oil around it. Not surprising given the mileage but the seals do not appear to be blown. I have let it idle for 15 minutes without any smoke coming from the exhaust. The title shows that the odometer exceeds the mechanical limit. This was marked in error when signing over the title. It just wasn't worth the hassle for me to try and correct. For North Carolina though, the mileage is no longer marked as part of transferring the title after the car is 10 years old, so it won't show up on a new title.Car has the jack and spare tire. I have two keys as well for it.Here's a list of work that I have had completed on the car:1/30/17 - 128196 mi - 4 new tires2/10/2017 - 128227 mi - Timing chain and VVT Actuator, drive belt, oil and filter, tensioner, transmission and coolant flush, front left axel and cv boots, BOV piping, power steering suction hose and fluid flush3/27/2017 - 129166 mi - Right rear wheel bearing, rear strut mounts, coolant topped off5/1/2017 - 131318 mi - Thermostat, Serpentine belt, tensioner, water pump, AC clutch, coolant8/4/2017 - 136120 mi - Oil and filter, tire rotation, suspension softened10/5/2017 - 138879 mi - Cabin air filters changed12/5/2017 - 140680 mi - Passed state inspection12/11/2017 - 140893 mi - EGR cleaning attempted, New spark plugs3/4/2018 - 142914 mi - EGR cleaning attempted, Boost control solenoid replaced3/9/2018 - 143136 mi - Oil and filter changed (5w-40 LiquiMoly)3/19/2018 - 143491 mi - Intake Air Filter cleanedI have a spreadsheet that documents all the work as well as the receipts of work done (including some from previous owners, mostly a history of consistent oil changes). I also have every fill up for the car since I have owned it, only using 93 octane gas. It shows the car consistently getting 25-30mpg. I have all the receipts for the recorded work. Car will come with several extras including the boost leak tester kit, oil filter socket, oil drain plug gaskets, serpentine belt and a Cobb Accessport V2. The car is located less than 10 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport and I would be happy to work with the winning bidder to arrange inspection and/or pickup of the car. A deposit of $200 via Paypal will be due to reserve the car and end the listing. Remaining balance will then be due in cash upon pickup of the car. If there are any questions, please ask them before buying. I have done my best to describe car fairly. It is sold as-is with no warranty.
