Vehicle Detail

This vehicle is being relisted due to shipping issues with the previous buyer (international). To avoid issues this time, I would prefer the buyer to be located within the United States. Further, I must stress that shipping or picking up the vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer. This vehicle is also being listed without any reserve. We have chosen to list our 2001 Nissan Frontier for your bidding pleasure. As much as it pains me to see it go, keeping it is simply not an option. There's a bit of a story behind the different areas of the truck description, so bare with me here and I'll make it as quick and painless as possible. Interior - I'll start with what I feel is the best part of the truck . The leather interior. The initial pictures I'm uploading now do not do the interior. The carpet is a bit dirty, and naturally, there exist a bit of wear and tear as found with any vehicle of this age, however, aside from an occasional blemish, the entire interior is in wonderful condition. No broken pieces or tears, red stitching still present and in good condition, even the SC emblems still look great. Do note however that while the truck has the 6-DISC CD changer, it hasn't worked for a while. The radio works, but I believe a CD is jammed in the head unit and won't allow CD's to be ejected or inserted/played. Also, the cruise control has not worked for a while. Exterior / Bed / Grill / Etc. - The exterior however, is not as nice. A few years ago, the truck had a disagreement with a tree.. or rather, my mother, who owns the truck, had a disagreement with a tree. She slid on some ice as she was pulling into the driveway and stuck a tree on the right side of the road going about 10-15 mph. The headlights, front bumper, hood, and fender all had to be replaced, along with the radiator and various parts on the passenger side of the truck. We never got to having the truck repainted, and unfortunately, we weren't able to have the front grill bar re-installed, or the fog lights. I will do my best to ensure all these parts are included with the truck. (The grill consist of 3" pipe that mount onto the frame under the truck.. I will try to find pictures of it installed and upload them). Let's see.. also, the rear bumper rusted away and fell off over the winter. That's about it for the major problems. Aside from the wear and tear and occasional blemish or scratch in the body, everything else is fine. Suspension / Tires & Wheels - The suspension is in fair condition. Nothing is broken, but simply worn. It squeaks quite a bit when traveling over bumpy terrain, most likely due to dirt and grime covering everything. Our home is a cabin located deep in the woods up a mountain dirt trail, which tends to push vehicles to limits not normally expected of them. The tires are wide, and have some life left.. I believe the size is 265/55R17.. 17" rims in good condition.. I'll verify the size later today. Engine - This is where the story will get interesting. 7 years ago, not long after purchasing the vehicle, the truck started experiencing problems with the engine cutting power under heavy load. My parents enlisted the the assistance of multiple technicians / shops with no success. The fuel pump was replaced twice, injectors once, fuel rail once, spark plugs 3 times along with wires.. etc and so forth. Finally, I got involved last year as they were considering selling the truck due to the issues. I found that the knock sensor had gone bad, and the motor had been running in limp mode the entire time. Replacing it myself was a fail, so it went to a garage, where it received a new knock sensor, gasket set, spark plugs, wires, a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel rail. The injectors were about the only part of the fuel system that we kept. I pick up the truck, and drive away.. and it purrs like a kitten. The power is smooth, without cutting out, and can be felt in the seat of your pants immediately. I'd driven the truck quite often over the years and hadn't felt this power since the truck was purchased. It lasted for all of 30 minutes.. Then the engine began missing on cylinder 1. Further, after sitting for longer than 30 minutes, the engine would spout smoke from the exhaust, tinted slightly blue, a sure sign of an oil leak into the cylinder. Taking it to the shop, we determined that it was 1 of 2 things.. Either A) the leaned out limp mode had weakened a valve, which went as soon as power came back, and is burnt... or 2) a ring on the piston is gone. The Garage offered to preform a compression test which would tell us the answer, but I was to upset with the situation and said screw it. Thus why the truck is for sale. I'm willing to have the compression test performed if a potential buyer ask. But as the truck may be purchased for parts, and not for the running condition, I'm choosing to hold off until requested. A new head will run $500.. not including labor cost. A piston ring on the other hand will spell doom. I will do my best to answer any and all questions or request for pictures / information within a few hours of receiving them. The truck will start and run, and was still on the road until April. While I'm inclined to offer to meet a buyer with the truck within a certain radius, I would much rather have you come and pickup the truck. We'll cross that bridge when we get there, but any distance longer than 10 miles will generally be out of the question. Arrangements must be made by the buyer for any shipping of the vehicle if desired, and I expect the auction winner to contact me within 24-48 hours of end of auction to discuss pickup, meeting.. etc. Thank you very much and happy bidding! Update 7/8/18 - I've added a few photo's which show some of the minor dings and scratches. Also, the hitch you see in the photo's is included with the truck but the receiver is not. Also, the truck comes with a button down tonneau cover for the bed. One last thing. The title is free and clear. The previous buyer, who could not arrange shipping, and I have worked out a deal between ourselves which had no effect on the title. So no worries!
