Vehicle Detail

1977 Triumph Silver Jubilee "One of a Thousand" Well, you probably know the one of a thousand story isn't exactly true. The initial run was one thousand all right but since they sold out so fast, management said let's ride this pony 'til she drops. So they made about another 1500. Give or take. The initial batch had the "one of a thousand" logo on the sidepanels, the later ones said "limited edition". This particular bike was languishing in a garage, long forgotten and it looked like it needed my help. The good news is that it wasn't beyond help, so I put it back on its feet. New parts include: Rebuilt front and rear calipers, new pads, new chain, cables as needed, new rear master cylinder and hose (not a fun job), new fork seals, and related bits, AGM battery, and lots of other bits and bobs that I can't remember. Also has the NOS K91 redline tires. I replaced the points rather than go with a Boyer electronic ignition. I did some modding to the front brake light switch so it actually works. Bit of Rube Goldberg setup as they changed it to a normal hydraulic switch in the following years. One muffler is a new repro and the other is original (hard to tell the difference). I have ridden this bike to numerous bike nights and done some touring in Maine and it is stone axe reliable. T140's were the best of the breed IMHO if you want to actually ride and get home. It also has the original certificate issued to the original owner of the bike. You had to register the bike to get the certificate. To sum it up, it's a great rider rather than a trailer queen. I painted the sidecovers and chainguard and a previous owner had painted the tank and front fender. The rear fender is original paint which means a dull finish; I think just a clear coat would bring it back. The rear taillight chrome is pitted which is normal for these bikes as chrome over aluminum is a dicey procedure at best. The chrome plating on the engine sidecovers has held up well with only a few pits. The chrome on the rims is very good but the pinstriping is a little tired, but original. Ask any questions before bidding please. It has a clear MA title in my name, no jumped title issues or dead guy / missing paperwork stuff you have to deal with. I would like a $500 Paypal deposit within 2 days of the auction end and the rest within a week. The reserve is more than fair and I won't disclose it. If you're not sure about any part of this transaction, please ask. The bike can be shipped from a business location during normal business hours but the logistics and cost are up to the buyer.
