Selling this '48 ford pickup for my sister-in-law. Her son passed away leaving this truck and a '73 hatchback Nova. (Nova listed at a later date)I am not a Ford man especially but will describe as best I can with what I have found. Truck was sitting in a field. Towed it home, bought a battery, added fresh gas and it started. Drove it around back yard. It is loud, doughnut seals between exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe missing. Has a 460 big block with IFS front end with power disc brakes and power steering. Has a floor console with what I think is a 80's era Mustang trans ??? Did not try to ID rear end but provided photos. Grey, power bucket seats match console but somewhat worn. Power seats not tested. Aftermarket speedo shows 3119 miles. Guessing that's the mileage since the IFS/engine conversion? Truck has some surface rust and a few spots needing body repair but actually not bad for a '48. You could spend a relatively small amount and drive truck as is. Or, would make a good project for a shop or individual willing to go frame off. You already have an engine, trans, and rear end... Either way, buy a steering wheel as it is too small for this truck! (I found what I think is the original wheel and column, goes with the deal.) Truck has a chrome grill out of a '49 or '50. You are welcomed, and encouraged, to come and inspect this truck prior to bidding. Have clear title and current tag in hand. Terms: Being sold without reserve, Non-refundable deposit of $500.00 (five hundred) due within 24 hours of end of auction. Methods of payment include 1. Cashiers check, but truck will not be released until check has cleared bank 2. Bank to bank wire transfer, truck released when transfer completed. 3. Balance in cash upon pick up. 4. Pay Pal, but be aware they will charge a 2.9% fee which the buyer must pay. I posted 24 pictures and represented truck as best I can. Sold as is, where is, with no warranties of any kind. New doughnuts installed but still has an exhaust manifold leak. does sound better. Found out transmission is a C6 and rear end is a Ford 9" On Jul-12-18 at 05:21:39 PDT, seller added the following information: 7/7/18: Shop (nationally known) advised transmission is a Ford C6 and rearend is a Ford 9" forgot to mention with earlier revision. I cannot personally confirm above information, inspections welcomed.
