Vehicle Detail
Rare 2002 Audi S6 Avant with only 882 sold in the USA in 2002 and less than 1500 for both model years! This 2002 Audi S6 Avant finished in Light Silver Metallic with light grey leather interior is an unmolested three-owner car with a clean Carfax. The first owner was an Audi executive. The second owner a Doctor bought the car from Jim Ellis Audi, Atlanta Ga as a certified CPO. The I bought the car in December 2011 from the doctor and has been used a daily driver. Faithfully maintained as evidenced by the CarFax report and copies of receipts . One scratch on the top of the right front fender and a ding on top of the left front fender, and both can be seen in pictures below. The front bumper cover was replaced the with factory OEM unit in 2017 due to a tear in the left front in a parking incident. Typical with these older Audi the multi-function display in the center of the dash is pixelated. Also noted that the driver’s memory seat memory works intermittedly. All other gauges and devices work as they should. The original 17” AVUS alloy wheels were replaced with 18” VMR units fitted with Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires showing approximately 50% tread and the wheels exhibit some curb rash as seen in the pictures provided. The original AVUS wheels are included with the sale. Other than routine maintenance no modifications have been made to the car other than the original Alcantara seat inserts were replaced with leather in 2014. Recent maintenance includes replacement of the catalytic converters 04/2018, oxygen sensors, evap leak detection pump, new accessory belt & idler pulley, and evap purge valve 01/2018; brakes 01/13/17 @ 158,900 miles. Hello, I was wondering if the service records indicate if the timing chain service has ever been performed on this 4.2L V8. I know that is a problem that effects a small percentage of the 4.2Ls but from what I understand, most shops recommend it every 100k as preventative maintenance. Also, when was the last time the vehicle was service and what was done to it? Thanks in advance! A. The previous owner had the timing belts replaced at 76,382. It is my understand this car has belts vs timing chains. Audi recommends this service every 105k miles so the next service is due at 181,382. My shop told me that this is a $1,200 service. Thanks for the question and interest. Let me know if you have any further ones.
