1968 Mercury Cougar, 302 automatic. West Texas car all of its life. This car is in excellent mechanical condition, starts and runs perfectly, but needs cosmetic work. The engine (302 2V) and transmission are original to the car and both were rebuilt recently. 8" rear end is original. The tires are new with fewer than 100 miles on them. Recent new parts: power steering pump and hoses, rebuilt power steering slave cylinder, fuel pump, intake manifold, Edelbrock 650 recently rebuilt, rear poly leaf spring bushings, rear brake rebuild, shifter bushings. The interior is all original and needs the usual work for a 50 year old car. The body is straight except for the driver side door which has damage near the door latch. The paint is not perfect (I give it a 7 on a 10 scale), but could be touched up by a good paint/body tech. The only rust on the car is in the right rear trunk pan. All glass is original. The vacuum actuated headlight grill doors open, but will not close on their own because one of them has slight damage behind the door preventing proper alignment. I have a complete set of original headlight doors and door support sockets in excellent condition that will go with the car so you can make the headlights function as they should.
