Vehicle Detail
Purchased in Texas 1997 where it was stored since the early 70s. Made the Belair safe driver, then drove to Nebraska for another 20 years of storage. This Belair drives well, 283cid from early 1960s (F1223DE), turbo 350. The engine will need new seals, does use some oil. New tires recently and new brakes/brake cylinders/hubs this year. Leaks some oil and leaks some gas when topped off. Firewall is original and solid with black paint vice the original color. The Belair has rust in the rear trunk pan; remainder of the trunk is solid see the photos; floors are good and body mounts are in excellent condition. Some of the side body skin, forward and rear of rear wheels and rockers is thin and will need replaced prior to final paint. Fenders have rust above headlights and dent on drivers lower front fender. Deck lid has rust on bottom edge. Gutters and rear window areas are solid--I sprayed some primer where paint was thin to prevent rust. Side stainless trim is present just removed. Hood bar is broken. See photos of all additional items. All windows and regulators work well; drivers door window has a crack and all side windows are EZI with some bubbling. Interior is complete with no carpeting except for some old shag carpeting under the passenger seat--will need a complete kit. The fuel gauge is stuck on full. Temperature gauge/oil light/gen lights works well. Will need a steering column horn kit--when taking a tight turn the horn honks. Original AM Radio works well, see video of the drive. Has the optional speaker adjust on the dash. Heating system is standard (not deluxe). Buckets seats are from a chevelle or impala. Dash was painted black vice the original turquoise. Has a new glove box. Locks all work and use the same key. Has original jack and some extra items for the interior. See photo of original colors; turquoise and India ivory. https://youtu.be/CP6t_ELEEEo
