Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL. I've owned this car for 5 years. It runs well and everything works. The body is quite nice. Nice paint. No damage other than very small dings and chips. I've driven this car all over the United States and put over 30,000 miles on it. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is I have two other Mercedes and I don't have room for this one in my garage any more. It needs to go to a good home--preferably garaged to preserve the nice paint. The car is finished in Artic White with a burgundy leather interior. It is the long wheelbase version 126. I have owned several Mercedes-Benzs of this vintage, including six 126s. I know these cars fairly well. Here's what I can tell you about this one:Climate control works. I've replaced several of the vacuum actuators and the monovalve (heat control valve). Air blows where is should. A/C blows cold and the heat works.Cruise control works. Cooling system has been flushed and filled with the correct MB coolant.Tires are new with probably less than 5,000 miles on them. Chrome wheels are in good condition.Shocks have been replaced with proper Bilsteins. No tears or rips in the leather. Front seat bottoms have been replaced. As is common with these cars, there are a couple of small cracks in the dash.Carpet is in good condition.Sunroof has been disassembled and lubricated with MB slide paste.Transmission shifts properly. There is no lag when shifting into reverse. Transmission fluid has been changed while I've owned this car. There is a slight leak which is common on these.Engine runs smoothly. It has new spark plug wires, cap and rotor. The M103 inline six is a fantastic, reliable engine. As is common on these, there is some seepage from the front of the head/timing cover area. Nothing that needs immediate attention.Rear muffler has been replaced.Radio/CD player is aftermarket. It works ok, but I'm sure you could find a better unit if it's important to you. The antenna seal has been replaced. The antenna works well and fully retracts.Power windows/locks work as they should. I had the windows professionally tinted when I lived in Texas.Overall, this is a very good car for it's age and mileage. I doubt there's many better than this for what I'm asking. I would feel confident driving this car cross country without any concerns. Having said that, keep in mind, it is a 30 year old car, so it will need service/maintenance as some point. **In addition to the car, I also have a number of parts I can include with it. I have a brand new dash cover that I had planned to install, but never did; plus numerous interior parts. The car has also been wired for Blackvue front and rear HD dash cams. Depending upon the final price, I may be able to include those.**
