Up for sale is an original California built 68 Mustang. Clean title in my name and registered until Jan of 2019. The car was sold new in Vallejo and spent it's entire life in the Bay Area. One family (until I bought it) car. 200 inline six engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission. Car had been sitting since 1989, so mileage may be accurate, but I am not sure. Engine runs great and all electrical appears to be in good working order. A lot of work has already been done and only a couple of things will need to be done to make it road worthy. Great candidate for restoration. Also a great father/son project. *Before you read on, this is a project car and will need to be towed. Transmission and exhaust are in need of repair/replacement to make it road worthy.* I can assist with transport company as the car is being stored at my place of business. Pro's:--- Engine fires right up and idles very smooth. --- New tires (less than 5 miles) --- New brakes, cylinders, brake hoses, master cylinder --- New Radiator, radiator hoses, water pump, thermostat --- New gas tank, rubber fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter, carburetor --- New battery, voltage regulator, coil, cap, rotor, points, plugs and wires--- New alternator (not installed)--- New belts.--- Power steering works great! --- New vacuum hoses --- New glass weatherstrip (not installed) --- New headliner (not installed)--- New dome lamp assembly (not installed) --- New carpet --- New sound deadener --- New Scott Drake Dash pad --- New Scott Drake camera case dash kit --- New Scott Drake floor shifter and gear indicator --- New foam and uhpolstery on front seats --- New GT three spoke steering wheel, pony horn button and adaptor (not installed) --- New Scott Drake window cranks, door locks and handles. --- New dash speaker and new 6x9 speakers in back --- New rear package tray --- New Scott Drake passenger mirror (not installed) --- New hood --- New front valance and rock guard --- New headlights --- New front bumper and bumper guards --- New Battery tray. New battery apron (not installed) --- Have original owners manual and two sets of keys. --- Clean title and registration paid until Jan of 2019. --- Straight as an arrow. All doors close crisp. No sagging anywhere. Cons: --- Transmission shifts into all gears and will move, but dies on acceleration. Also has small leak at pan. May just need an adjustment. --- Exhaust pipe and muffler should be replaced. Exhaust manifold appears to be good. --- Front and rear windshield gaskets need to be replaced. Replacements will be included with sale. --- Battery acid got a bit of the rail, but not horible. You can cut it out or treat it with Por15. Battery tray has been replaced. New battery apron included but not installed. --- Will need new shocks all the way around. --- Couple of tiny rust areas. Right rear quatrer near trunk smaller than an eraser head. A little rust under the rear driver floor. Tiny bit in the driver door. No rot anywhere on the car. Slight surface rust on roof, but very minor and would lift with a brillo pad.--- Vent window chrome is pitted pretty bad, but I will include a replacement set of driver quality vents. --- Original paint. Weathered from being outside over time, but no filler and no bondo! Please ask any questions before placing a bid. A bid is a contract to buy. I can show the car locally.
