The lightning shared much of its structure with the F-150, but extensive modifications were made to the suspension and frame in order to improve the handling. The Lightning was produced from 1993 to 1995. For 1999, the SVT Lightning returned after a 3 ear hiatus. Still using the F-50 as a basis with a number of suspension modifications. Instead of a model-specific engine, the Lightning now used a 5.4L engine from teh F150; fitted with a supercharger, it produced 360hp (increased to 380 in 2001). As before, the transmission was borrowed from the F-350 Diesel pick ups. Under the hood is also like new. This is an extremely clean engine compartment. We had to do nothing to prepare this truck for its photo shoot. The factory wheels are now wrapped in Nitto Extremem ZR tires. The Lightning came with this side exhaust set up.
