This 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 true quad cab 12 valve Cummins diesel has an interesting history. It was purchased new in 1998 by a gentleman who at the time was 40 years old. It was ordered with a few banks upgrades as seen in the engine photos along with a fuel and boost banks gauges inside the cab. This truck has Not ever been modified beyond the factory add ons done new. The truck was traded in July of 2000 with 65k miles to Mitchell Dodge in CT. One of the owners of Mitchell dodge (Steven Mitchell) decided he wanted to keep the truck for himself. Well he kept the ram in his / dealers possession for 17 years! It still has his justice of the peace sticker on the sun shade visor. The truck still has the original title from the original owner as Mr Mitchell just used a dealer plate on it. The truck was always serviced at his dealership as well (I have the computer print out with service dates. I’m sure the records are on file. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Time did it’s toll on the paint from typical time and use and front fenders had rust. I replaced the front fenders with rust free ones and my friend Then painted the truck. I really wanted to put the energy into making this truck nice again just based on the history alone. Take a look at the auto check score and carfax. It scores as high as it possibly can! The truck runs and drives very nice. I do have to say the steering feels amazing. I have a 2002 ram diesel as well and this truck feels World’s better to drive. Brakes are solid, engine runs strong, the truck has 3:55 gearing, has all new shocks and has new front end Parts. The truck has a rebuilt upgraded transmission that was installed at 186k miles. Since he obtained it in 2000 the factory transmission finally went south and it was replaced with one that’s been upgraded to last much longer. The truck shifts excellent. The seat fabric left side was redone in 2010 on the edge and is holding up. The 4x4 works great and she purrs down the highway very nice. This truck has a great ride quality. The paint looks nice. There’s tiny flaws here and there but overall I think it looks great. I apologize the truck wasn’t detailed for the photos I didn’t have time to get it done so a nice cleaning would be nice. The underside is fairly clean with your typical surface rust here and there. The new owner will be happy with this truck. It’s No Reserve so it’s selling to the final bidder. If I was to name the flaws on it I would say the tires are decent but will need to be replaced in the near future. I didn’t check the AC but I’m going to say it will probably need a recharge. The small plastic trim cover on the bottom of the steering wheel needs to be replaced but I’m sure I will get one before the auction ends. It is not a show truck paint wise but was redone nicely overall. Anybody looking at this auction knows rams overall and can see the condition of the truck by all the photos included. Overall this is a nice truck! The power train is healthy, strong, and certainly hasn’t been worked hard. The appearance is sharp as well. Please keep in mind this isn’t a new truck, it’s 20 years old, it’s a Dodge Ram, it’s New England and regular time and basic use gives you normal wear and tear. I’m sure the new owner would be buying this to use it for the purposes it should be used for.
