2002 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 - 151k Miles - Inspected 9/2017 & Ready to Drive Up for sale is a 2002 Ford Escape XLT which has had a lot of work done to it. We bought this car at an auction late in 2015 as our daughter was going to turn 16 soon. As time has gone on, it's clear she's going to wait until she's 18 to drive so we're going to sell this car for now instead of letting it sit. The car has 151,083 miles, and everything seems to be working pretty well. All of the windows work, lights, and even the sunroof. It has a nice aftermarket Sony CD Player and the tires are at least 60-70% in-tact. Runs & drives good. The paint is not perfect, in particular, the roof has a lot of peeling paint. The rest of the body looks pretty good, and no major dings or issues to report, just normal wear and tear from a vehicle this age. Even the interior looks great, not a crack in the dashboard and it's pretty clean for a car of this age all in all. When we first bought it, we replaced the upper & lower intake manifold gasket, the plugs & coils packs, the pan gasket, power steering pump & did a lot of brake work. The brakes have rebuilt front calipers, new hoses, new booster & master cylinder. We had them professionally bled as well. Sadly, the brakes still feel soft to me. After two brake shops telling me this is how they are on these old Escapes, and a passed state inspection, we finally just left them as they were. We also replaced two of the three catalytic converters, which was not cheap, but needed. Needless to say, it was never our intent to sell this car after all of the money we put into it, but we don't want to leave it sitting for two more years. Better to get it to someone who will be able to drive it! Come by and give it a test drive! As with most used cards, this vehicle is sold as-is, where-is with all faults and condition issues.
