Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1992 Mercedes Benz 500E. I would assume most of you looking at this car are familiar with the pedigree, including the collaboration with Porsche, that made this car a legend. With just over 133,000 miles currently, this car has been well maintained and comes with a 3 ring binder stacked full of records and receipts totaling around $30k. In 2003, the car had the facelift update done which included paint matching the lower cladding in the original DB199 black pearl paint and rear taillights from a 94 E500 at a cost of $4,000. This was purely due to preference by the previous owner, the car has never been in an accident and there is no rust at all. I installed AMG aero III wheels which are very desirable with new tires on the rear and matching Falkens all around. I do still have the original 500e wheels which will come with the sale. Please note, I would accept a lower price for the car if you wish to have the original wheels only. All paint is in great condition with no signs of fading although some imperfections are visible, most notable are chips around the lower front bumper and some minor scrapes behind the passenger side rear wheel as pictured. The leather interior has no tears or cracks nor does the dash. The wood is in good condition as well but the center console around the gear shifter shows some cracking. There are no warning lights on the dash and the car drives very well all around. The rear sunshade, heated seats, and all other electronics work with the exception of the rear driver's side window and the cruise control. All heavy maintenance items have already been attended to including a transmission rebuild, timing chain, suspension rebuild, and AC. Most recently, I have installed a new thermostat, fuel pump relay, and an updated wiring harness. Below is a brief service history of highlights: @96k miles- Rear Hydropneumatic shocks were replaced with OEM units along with rear springs. - Various other suspension items including struts were replaced. - Fluids flushed and brakes serviced. @115k miles- Transmission was rebuilt with OEM seals, gaskets, brake bands, band pistons, and clutch disc- Replaced timing chain and tensioner with upper guide rails and slide rail.- Replaced Valve cover gasket- Replaced Water pump, coolant reservoir and Drive Belt- Replaced Oil pan gasket- Oil level sender - Rebuild power steering pump and Steering gear rebuild - OEM muffler/exhaust system @120k miles - Suspension work including front shocks and springs. New R/L tie rod ends and bushings - New spark plugs, wires, cap and rotors. - Leak in the AC system tracked down. A/C serviced with a new blower motor and various lines. - AC belt - Front and rear brake service. This car would be classified as a strong driver and I have used it personally as my daily. I hate to let it go, especially with all that's been done to it, however, I need to make room for a new purchase. Thank you!
