Selling my 1991 LX 5.0 Mustang SSP, former Florida Highway Patrol Police Intercepter that is still in great original condition with a respectful restoration completed. It was retired from FHP service in 1996 (I have the auction records) and was then daily driven and stored. I am only the third owner. It has been upgraded with components from the 1990s, such a Moroso Cold air kit, Ford Motorsport stainlesss steel direct-fit headers and a full Dynomax exhaust with stainless steel tailpipes (impossible to find today.) The interior has been restored with new seat upholstery, the seatbacks were repaired and new carpeting was installed as well. The original FHP decals are still on the car and the paint is all original with factory VIN tags still on every panel. Even the factory black stripe that covers the overlap between the two colors is still there. No rust, naturally, since the car was in Florida, then in North Carolina and then put into storage in New York City. The original wheels are indeed silver on 1991s and this car is 100% correct in that regard. The tires are like-new Goodyears Assurance in the proper 215/65/15 sizing as per FHP requirements. Suspension has been upgraded with Koni struts and shocks for tighter handling with Kenny Brown subframe connectors added. Everything else is original as Ford installed it including the original oil cooler system, silicone cooling system hoses and high output alternator. AC has been properly converted to R134a and it's ice cold. Vehicle has been meticulously maintained and can be driven anywhere. As for the police equipment, the factory calibrated speedometer is still there, and on top, it has the highly desirable and correct Jetsonic chain-driven JS1 lightbar, which works perfectly. Not correct for FHP is a newer Code 3 Siren with PA, electronic wig wag headlight module and functional MPH Industries K55 radar system. All the equipment works and is great for shows. This equipment will be disabled and disconnected and all police markings will be covered with custom-fit magnetic sheeting, provided by seller at the time of sale, as per law. I've been with Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine for 20 years and it's coming out of my personal collection so you should know that it has been lovingly upgraded and taken care of by a true Mustang fanatic that knows a good car when he sees one.
