Vehicle Detail

1995 Mercedes S600, V12 engine, Black with Light Grey/Dark Grey leather interior. Power everything, limo tint, except for the wheels all original. Wheels are from a 2006 Mercedes S550. This car has way too many things to list in this ad. See below for details. Clear California title in hand – I will provide the signed pink slip. Car starts, runs and drives perfectly. We keep this an extra specialty car to drive from time to time to special events. But I am now traveling a lot for business and it's just been sitting. I start it and wash it weekly but I just don't have the time to keep doing that so, as much as I hate to do it, I need to let it go. I just want it to go to a good owner that can appreciate it. **SPECIAL NOTE: If you are the type of person that takes your cars to the dealer for repairs, DO NOT buy this car. One dealer visit will cost you more than the car is worth and you will not be happy. But if you know what it means to own a complex classic car, read on. Purchase information: If you purchase this vehicle, please plan on pickup in person with full payment in cash only. I am willing to help with shipping but only if the purchase price has been paid in full via an bank-to-bank EFT transfer – NO CASHIERS CHECKS will be accepted. Once full payment is received and fully cleared, only then will I provide the vehicle to a shipper. The following is a list of the maintenance I've done: -Rebuilt automatic transmission 5000 miles ago -New battery -2 new catalytic converters -New oxygen sensors -New radiator -New water pump -New expansion tank -New fan clutch -New drivers door window regulator -New rear door window regulators – both sides -Rewired the master wiring harness (this model year had wires that disintegrated) -Rewired the body wiring harness (also was disintegrating) -Rewired both Electronic throttles – known as the ETA (also had internal wiring disintegrating) -New power mirror switch -Chipped the ECU – removes the speed limiter and cold transmission 2nd gear hold function (I will provide you the original chips if you wish to restore it to factory spec) -fixed vacuum system – soft close doors, locks and “Martian” backup antennas all work correctly These are the things I know it still needs/does: -Needs a new antenna -May need a new suspension Pressure Sphere on the rear right side (part # 140 328 05 15) -Front plastic lower airdam is cracked. It's held together with some zip ties and fasteners. -This is an ASR car-sometimes, the electronic gremlins trigger default mode. A key off/on cycle resets it -Electronic steering sensor sometimes triggers the suspension to stay in sport mode -Did I mention electronic gremlins? – late 80's state of the art computer technology – it all works but sometimes does strange things -air conditioner now needs a recharge due to lack of use (I may do this before it gets picked up) =============================== If you're read this far, then this is just extra for your entertainment. I searched for the right car for almost a year. I finally found this one in Texas on eBay. I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped to my home in California. It was in even better condition than the pictures in the ad. It was exceptional and we used it as a daily driver for a few years. Eventually, my kids grew older and my wife didn't need a huge car any more so we kept it but only drove it occasionally for special events. My plan was to keep it for the long term as it will soon hit the 25 year mark and qualify as a legitimate classic. Unfortunately, my business now requires me to travel often and I can't bear the thought of parking it for years just to watch it rot away. I hope it goes to a new home that can appreciate it for what it is – a feat of engineering that may never be duplicated again. This is the one – the biggest, baddest S-Class ever. To come even close to this 22 year old car in engineering, you'd have to buy a late model Rolls Royce Phantom at a list price of $417,000. Think I am exaggerating? Look at the picture of the original window sticker for this car - $133,375 – in 1995 dollars. That would be over $215,000 in today's money. You really have to drive one of these to understand. I like buying cool cars that I read about in magazines. I bought this one on eBay in pristine condition because I wanted to know what it was like to drive a V12. Eye opening. The smoothness of the torque is amazing. This car is fast but not in a muscle car way. You're coddled in ultra smooth luxury while still accelerating with over 400HP. On the freeway at 80, it's like you're cruising at 35. Actually, at over 100, it feels exactly the same way – relaxed like it could do this all day. This is not a sports car by any stretch – it weighs a few pounds shy of 6000 lbs (that's 3 tons!), so it prefers to go in a straight line but it's no slouch either. With the suspension in sport mode, it tightens up nicely and has no body roll. Just know that this is now a 22 year old car so don't expect it to be a good daily commuter car like a Civic or Corolla.
