Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1978 Plymouth Volare. Here is a list of the good and bad aspects of the car. The Bad: . engine runs, but lacks power (I am told that a couple of spark plugs need to be replaced, and may resolve this issue.). gas gauge does not work. actual mileage is not known. odometer does not work (stopped at 104,000). small area of rust on left rear quarter panel. tear on front seat The Good: . solid body. 225 C.I. Six Super . engine RUNS! . all windows and locks work. all side and rear glass is good Same owner since 01/09/1989. This was the primary household vehicle for six months of the year, every year from 1989 to 2016. It has provided reliable transportation through the years, but has not been driven regularly in over a year and a half. Actual mileage is not known, 150,000 is a complete guess and is only noted because I was required to include a number. Kept garaged when not in use. The air conditioning seems to blow cool, but not ice cold. Clear title in hand. Great project or parts car. Pre-purchase inspections are encouraged and welcomed. Please contact me with any questions prior to bidding. Vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty. Buyer is responsible for pickup and shipping. No reserve. Non-refundable deposit of $100 is due within 48 hours of auction end. Full payment, via cash or cashier's check, is due within 7 days of auction end. I am told that the only service to the vehicle, aside from routine maintenance (oil changes, batteries, tires, etc), was the replacement of wheel bearings in early 2016. I do not have possession of any maintenance records. I am told that the engine and transmission were not rebuilt, nor were there any accidents, during the time they have owned it. Owner states that there was only one owner prior to them, and they were not advised of any rebuilds or accidents at the time of purchase in 1989. Seals and gaskets tend to dry up when a car is not driven on a regular basis, which their mechanic tells me is normal for a vehicle of this age. santini16Do you have any maintenance records? Has the engine ever been rebuilt? Has the transmission ever been rebuilt? Has it ever been in an accident? ThanksOn Oct-25-17 at 14:16:38 PDT, seller added the following information: new message to: tezz_flanaThe vehicle has not been driven regularly in over a year and a half. Owner reports that it was in good working order back in early 2016. I can confirm that it starts up, and the engine runs, but lacks power. I would assume that it will require considerable maintenance before being put on the road.tezz_flanaGood working order? Any work needed or issues? Thnx T
