Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is this beautiful 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Sport Coupe with just over 30,000 documented miles. The car was purchased from a local Chevy dealer (Henry Batey Chevrolet) in Carnegie (Pittsburgh), PA. It was undercoated and rustproofed by Auto Armor when new. Also applied at that time were both paint and fabric protection. This sport coupe boasts an impressive list of over $4,000.00 of original factory upgrades, including the optional 305 V8 engine, sport suspension, limited slip differential, and Landau package. The car includes documentation for all the above (window sticker, owner’s manuals, rustproofing documents, etc.), as well as proof of actual mileage. The original owner kept handwritten notes of the maintenance that he had performed, and per his notes, the oil was usually changed yearly - often at 1000-mile intervals. Additionally, the car was inspected/ emissions tested religiously each year, even though it is exempt due to both age and mileage. In 1985, Chevrolet produced 53,438 Impala sedans and 139,240 Caprice sedans, but only 16,229 two-door Caprice Classic Sport coupes were manufactured. As you can see, this one has an impressive list of options, as well as a stunning color combination. This majestic cruiser is a pleasure to drive and a true representation of a 1980’s luxury vehicle. It is in amazing original condition, and everything works as it should. This highly optioned Chevy is equipped with cruise control, tilt wheel, power seats/ windows/ mirrors/ and locks, and an AM/FM radio with cassette player. This car floats down the highway like the big-bodied cars of this era that you remember. It runs, drives, shifts, and stops like it did in 1985, and can be driven anywhere worry-free. The ice- cold air conditioning was retrofitted to 134a and will keep its happy new owner cool on long road trips or a short ride to the local car show. The original gray metallic paint looks like it was made for this car and impressively accentuates its sleek exterior and sharp body lines - it shines like a mirror. The gleaming stainless trim and sparkling chrome is in excellent condition and adds a bright contrast to the dark gray paint. The original light gray cloth interior is in immaculate condition as well, and free from any rips, tears, or stains, and still has the original GM color-matched floor mats. The headliner is tight and clean, and the dash pad is perfect with no signs of cracking. The original gray vinyl top is flawless and shines like new. The fully carpeted trunk is all original as well and looks as though it never held anything more than the original spare tire and jack that is currently still inside. The engine and engine bay is very clean, and there are absolutely no leaks. All the rubber door and trunk seals are complete and pliable and in amazing condition as well. This full-sized, comfortable Chevy is rock-solid, and there is absolutely no rust, rot, or scale on the car. The frame still wears its original undercoating and there is no rust or scale to be found on the frame or floor boards. The original owner took meticulous care of this pampered Caprice, and it shows everywhere you look. The car is offered at no reserve and may be for sale locally. I welcome you or your representative to inspect the car prior to purchasing – if you are looking for an original 1980’s full-sized Chevy, you will not be disappointed. You will be amazed at the exceptional condition of this vintage automobile from top to bottom. Thanks for looking.
