Vehicle Detail

Dear Friends, I am offering this Mustang GT for sale much to my chagrin. I love the car but I can't keep it for a variety of reasons. I will call the "variety of reasons" The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Most of it is Ugly, some of it is Bad and a little of it is Good. The Good: The Engine and Drivetrain all seem to be in good working order. I have had no engine or trans problems with it with the exception of the throw-out bearing which has whined since I bought the car a little under 4 years ago. I was surprised to see I've only put 9,000 miles on it since I bought it. I only drove it for fun. The previous owner was the original owner and a mature guy. Actually had Fire Police lights installed as he was a volunteer fireman. Take home point being he took care of the car and it was all stock. When I bought it the intake manifold leaked coolant at the coolant port so I replaced the stock intake manifold with the upgraded Ford Performance Manifold. This being my 5th Mustang GT I had big plans to have fun modding it up. But I only got so far. I replaced the stock plenum with an Accufab Plenum. I replaced the 65mm stock throttle body with the larger Hi-Flo70mm Ford Throttle body. I also went with cold air intake and a Pro M Racing Mass Air Sensor tuned to the 70mm throttle body and in a custom sensor housing. Additionally, I replaced the stock exhaust with SLP Loud Mouth exhaust and an off-road h or x pipe (can't remember). I bought a diablo chip for it but never intalled it. So that is The Good. Mustang runs well and has some modest mods. The Bad: Mechanic says he won't inspect it anymore due to the extensive rust on the frame and parts of the body like the floor of the trunk. He says its fixable but that he wouldn't spend the money to fix it. There is no doubt it is super rusty and there is a good reason for it. The previous owner (206,000 miles worth) lived in Hyannis Port, Maine...as in right on the ocean...as in sand and salt galore...as in rust. So if you can weld and do sheet metal, etc then this might be the car for you. The Ugly: The Convertible roof is shot...as in it leaks into the little area behind the back seat where it goes when its down...as in all the time in every rain storm. If that were not enough, the drivers side door won't close because the latch in the door itself is broken. And neither the drivers or the passengers side door windows work properly, they're off their tracks and they go every which way when activated. Presently I can't get the convertible to lower or do anything at all...may be something simple as the car has been sitting a year. So it is just more than I care to tackle. The door not closing and the windows not working properly is what broke me. I just couldn't find time to fix them and I wasn't going to pay someone to do it. Car was to mechanic last month and he said it's a shame cause it runs well but the rust is too extensive for him to okay it. Best I can tell you. THIS IS AN "AS IS, WHERE IS" Auction. It will probably drive anywhere you need to go (with door secured somehow of course) and I will be happy to assist in getting it onto a shippers trailer but beyond that it will become the buyers responsibility once purchased. BEWARE OF PICTURES...they always make something look better than what it really is (like those HUGE Big Mac picture ads and then you bite into that NASTY thing and get a mouthful of bun, sauce and shredded lettuce)... So don't blame me if you REALLY DON'T KNOW what you're doing and what you're after.
