1971 Honda SL70

1971 Honda SL70 in good original condition:Throughout original paint with only surface rust, minor dings and scrapes on tank, right side cover is good without cracks, front fender is clean, the rear fender not so much, it's a mess. Chain guard and engine covers all clean without gouges or scrapes, chrome on wheels,handlebar and headlight ring cleaned up, but there is small pitting. Everything is nice and straight, and it looks like this Pee Wee Honda was sold as a scrambler without hand controls for bIinkers and a horn. Even though there was a spare key under the tank, some genius ruined the ignition switch trying to drill it out. The chrome on the air box cleaned up nice and the assembly is tight so no water could get in.Needs upholstery, seat pan very good, as are headlight, front fender, forks and chrome headlight stays.Right side cover is very good with no cracks or chips, I'd be very careful taking it off though; left cover missing.Handlebar lightly pitted but dead straight; hand control needs cleaning but works, wires everywhere look good. Tank has only a few small dings and scrapes, very clean inside.Exhaust in good condition, heat shield still has good chrome but is a little beat.Engine turns over with good compression; clean the carb, put a battery to it, replace the throttle cable and it'll probably start right up. It'll take some time and elbow grease to clean it up, but a little Evaporust and a mild abrasive for the surface rust will go a long ways towards restoring this little gem to its former glory.
