Vehicle Detail

2005 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon Sahara #768/1000 VIN: 1J4FA64S55P357088 Only 5,100 miles! In 2005, to coincide with the Paramount release of the movie Sahara which featured a Jeep Wrangler, Jeep released a limited production of the “Sahara Edition” Unlimited Rubicon. Only 1,000 were produced and each one is numbered. All were of the Light Khaki color and had some other options such as two tone seats, chrome grill, color matched tops and other trim level differences. Functionally, however, they were no different from the standard Unlimited Rubicon offerings. This particular vehicle is #768 of the 1000 produced. I have not registered it in the Owner Registry at this point, so will allow the new Owner to choose to do so. Purchased in June of 2006 from a 4WD shop in Virginia with 3,657 miles. They had installed the lift, axle gears, front bumper and winch and were using it as advertising for their shop. The current mileage now 13 years later as of August 2017 is only 5,113 original miles. I used to custom build Jeeps as a hobby and this was the last one I built and kept as my personal “toy”. It has always been garage kept. My goal in building this was to put together an extremely capable trail rig while still keeping it “looking” like a Jeep. I have taken this out on some pretty significant trail rides and it would be what I call a “point and go” Jeep. Once you put it in low range and lock the front and rear axles (it has the factory air lockers in both), it basically goes wherever you point it! Oil changes have been synthetic, and I try to get it out of the garage for a run about twice a year. It is currently tagged, insured, and has a clear Ohio title in my name ready to transfer to the new owner. This is a high optioned factory jeep, so with the Rubicon package – you have the Dana 44 axles (gearing upgraded to 4.88), factory air lockers, the ultra low 4:1 transfer case, and other options. Inside, it looks as new – as you would expect a vehicle with 5K miles to look. There have been seat covers on it since new (just pulled off prior to pictures), and it comes with a set of Husky floor liners that have been in it since I have owned it. All of the factory inside options are there as well, air, cruise, upgraded factory 6 disc CD radio, and other goodies. All works exactly as they should. AC is ICE COLD and the heat will warm you out of the vehicle!. Listed in the next section is the LONG list of modifications that has been done to this Jeep to make it the Show and Go vehicle that it is: Lift is a Full Traction 6” Long Arm full kit – with integral underbody skid plate. It is one of the best if not the best lift kits of the time (and might still be) for the Jeep TJ. Along with the Dynatrac Long shocks, it allows for a huge amount of suspension travel, while having an extremely smooth ride. This is coupled with a Currie Anti-Rock Sway bar kit, and a Currie heavy duty steering kit. Wheels are 10” Allied 32-bolt REAL bead locks, with 35” x 12.5 BFG Mud Terrain T/A KMs and has a matching mounted spare. I also used Innovative Balancing Dynabeads in the wheels so it drives out nice. No issues driving 65MPH on the highway, and normally air down to about 10-12 PSI on the trails. There is a TruSpeed adjustable speedometer module installed so that with the tire/gearing changes, the speedometer still reads correctly. It has a Warn clearance front Winch bumper with the high hoop mounted. Winch is a Warn XP9500 – 9,500 lbs pulling strength and easily pulls the vehicle out of stuck situations. Also includes Warn front D-rings. Rear bumper is a Safari Guard with integral swing way spare tire mount. Works great and supports the 35” wheel with no issues. There is an ARB snorkel kit fully tied into the air box. Most people think these are for creek crossings (which they are), but they also do well at raising the air intake higher for travel on dusty roads! You have Olympic 3” side bars installed with Jeep Accessories side rocker aluminum diamond plate, as well as the Bushwacker pocket flares over the wheels. (note – the rear have been trimmed slightly to allow for the massive wheel travel. Underneath, you have several braces and skid plates: Rock Ready steering box braceSkid Row Fuel Tank skid plateSkid Row Radiator skid plateSkid Row Lower Control Arm skid platesFXD Differential Skid guardFront Differential guard Front the front / top – AVS hood deflectorFront headlight brush bar protectorsTuff Stuff hood rack for the included 60” Hi-Lift jackWindshield hinge lighting mountsPIAA Off road floodlightsCustom GPS external antenna mount (more on this below)Side mirror relocation bracket for the driver mirror(Note – special pass side swing away mirror that mounts to Hi-Lift jack included for those states that require) From the rear – There are dual rear light antenna mounts – one for the 48” Firestick CB antenna and one for the 36” multiband scanner antennaTail light protectorsRear facing color camera (more on this below)A pair of halogen rear accessory lights mounted within the bumperCustom modified Jeep 3rd Brake light to clear the 35” tire2” Receiver shackle tow pointAlso installed is a DesignTech Halogen Back Up Alarm Under the hold is all factory 4.0L except for a PowerAid Throttle Spacer. I also have a Battery Minder hooked up with an external pigtail out the front by the wince where you can keep the vehicle plugged in during storage and it keeps the battery charged and de-sulfated. Inside, there is a Rock Hard sport cage installed for extra safety. It includes the integrated center console “T-Top” as well as the front brace bar across the dash, and the rear spreader bar supporting the Factory cage. I do have the Cage front floor mounts with the kit, but never installed them. Also includes the bar padding kits for all the brackets. This cage is nice as it is bolt in with factory components, fits under the factory soft top, provides some nice mounting points for accessories, and is out of the way enough when driving. For the electronics – There is an SPOD 7x1 kit installed with the center overhead console with air gauge and full relay kit under the hood.I have 12V supplied to the Cage, Front Floor and Rear of the vehicleThere is a Lowrance BAHA GlobalMap GPS w/network installed on the front dash with the external antenna on the driver side flood light mount. No issues with satellite tracking in the woodsThere is a peaked and tuned Cobra 29WxNWST w/ Astatic mic installed on the top console, as well as a Uniden Bearcat scanner (for picking up all the radio chat on rides)Hooked to the rear camera is a 5” Multisource camera monitor in the drivers visor position. Will support more than one camera, but currently only have a rear facing camera installed – makes it easy to see when the person behind you gets stuck! The rear seat is removed and in its place is a cargo bed platform (using the original seat belt mounts so can be removed) housing a bunch of tie-downs, as well a large too chest for spare parts. From the back entrance, you will find the Extreme Aire high output air compressor and tank for on-board air tools and filling tires, as well as the fire extinguisher, and an aluminum cargo rack. For those of you going the Jeep Excursion type route, also included is the following Hard Core extra parts – most of which I normally carried and mounts inside the vehicle as well. Most of it all tucked inside a matching tool box as the one mounted inside the Jeep. 2 Front Axle Shafts – Inner and Outer with U-jointsFront Drive shaft with U-jointsRear Drive shaft with U-joints (makes it so much easier to just bolt another one in rather than changing u-joints in the mud as many of you might be able to attest to)Spare starter (with an automatic, always a good thing to carry)Spare alternator (have to run those electronics!)New spare serpentine beltNew spare extended front brake linesNew spare front wiper bladesNew spare front wheel bearingAnd probably a couple other new parts in there as well Overall just a great all around capable Jeep, and turns heads everywhere it goes or is parked. This would be both great for someone who wanted to keep back as a collector vehicle with the low miles, or someone who wanted to enjoy it for what is was built for – hitting the trails and looking good doing it! I have lots of pictures that are available, and you are welcome to set up an in-person appointment to see the Jeep first hand. While it looks great in the pictures, this has been used in off-road activities, so you will find several minor blemishes, wear marks, minor scratches in the paint and on the soft top windows. I think a good detail and buff should take out most imperfections, but in spirit of full disclosure, there are some present. Feel free to ask any questions, or can send additional pictures of any areas requested. Not in a hurry to sell, and really wouldn’t mind if it didn’t sell, but trying to free up space and prepare for some larger purchases. Note: I described the Jeep to the best of my ability. You are welcome to come check out in person. Sells as is – where is, no warranty expressed or implied. Cash preferred. Wire transfer and cashier’s check must clear prior to title and vehicle transfer. If the vehicle needs shipped, happy to work with auto transport of your choosing. Dimensionally, the Jeep is about 80” High x 80” Wide x 15’ Long. Vehicle is listed several places locally for sale as well. That said, as soon as there is a bid on the Jeep here on eBay, it will sell to the highest bidder through this eBay auction.
