Vehicle Detail

I am selling a 1979 Lincoln Continental Collectors Series that I purchased in Detroit, MI, in April 2016. I drove the car over 600 miles home and it ran very well. I haven't really driven the car much since then so I decided that I should sell it. Since it's been sitting for a few months, I expect it to be a little sticky. The car is Midnight Blue Metallic with dark blue leather interior and it has extremely low mileage for its year. The seats and entire interior are in excellent condition - it looks brand new inside. The carpets are in good shape and the dashboard does not have any cracks on it. The door panels and headliner are perfect. Even the interior of the trunk looks great! The exterior of the car still has been repainted in its original color and it presents well to the average person, but it is not a show quality paint job. The body is rust-free except for the common rust problem with the rear bumper supports. Theses have rusted and the rear bumper is loose. This is a weak spot on all of these cars and should be an easy fix. The rims are original and the tires are almost new with good tread on them, but they are not whitewalls. Since I haven't driven it much, I can't say much about the mechanics other than it drove fine from Detroit, MI, to Boston, MA. The smog pump has been removed from the vehicle by a previous owner, but this doesn't cause any drivability problems and actually increases horsepower a little. Since this is a 38 year old car, you will probably have some minor tweaks to do to make it run perfectly. If you're familiar with these cars, you know that the Lincoln Continentals were the last big American sedans produced. To commemorate the final year of production, Lincoln introduced a limited edition Collectors Series, which was loaded with every option available. If you're not familiar with this car, here are some links that describe the model in more detail:https://notoriousluxury.com/2015/03/03/1979-lincoln-continental-collectors-series/http://www.curbsideclassic.com/curbside-classics-american/curbside-classic-1979-lincoln-continental-collectors-series-what-a-name-what-a-car/The car still looks sharp and she got lots of looks, smiles, thumbs up, and "nice car" comments on my way back to Boston. One toll booth collector even held up traffic to ask me about her! The car needs some work to be perfect, but it's a great car to drive while you perfect it. Please contact me if you have any questions.
